Hi Everyone

I would first like to say thanks to you all for the great work you are doing.  I have reading the forum wondering If I should post or not, but I decided to try and get some advice from you guys.

Well heres my story......

Towards the end of 2008 I was working in scandanavia and had been for about a year.  I was going through a difficult time in a relationship and was depressed.

I got friendly with two young ladies and the above coupled with alot of alcohol lead me to have a sexual encounter with both of them within a week.  These ladies were just normal girls not prostitutes etc and both were just one-offs.

The first was unprotected vaginal intercourse, I started for about 30 secs and then thought "What I am doing" and stopped.  I didnt finish and there was no ejaculation.

The second was just some fingering.  Again I sobered up pretty quickly and decided that I didnt want to be this person any more.  Since these issues I have tried successfully to remain faithful to my girlfriend and have regretted deeply these incidents ever since.  I have tried to be a better person to both my girlfriend and child.

On returning to the UK I thought I should take responsibility for my actions and went to the local GUM clinic and got tested.  I tested -VE at 9.5 weeks for the first incident and 8.5 for the second respectively.  The doctor did say I would need retesting at 12 weeks but I didnt really understand why......needless to say due to my naivety I didnt return to get my confirmation test.

Fast forward 3 years and I was by chance reading the internet and looked at an article about window period and 12 week confirmation tests.  Since then my world has been upside down, constantly worried that I still could have tested +ve and infected my child and partner.  About 4 months ago I started to have some mild skin irritation on my neck, shoulders and forearms (I still have it ) and a funny feeling in my left eye (still have it), I have also started feeling tired and having back pains and sleeping more as well as intermittent groin pain.

I started getting really worried and went back to the GUM clinic who said I was worrying unescessarily and that they didnt recommend retesting as in their opinion 9.5/10 weeks were more than reliable (I didnt know what test was used).  I also went to my GP who basically said the same.  I was referred to a phycologist and I am still undergoing treatment with them for medical anxiety.

I couldnt take it any more so I contacted the lady I had sex with and just asked her, she has since had a baby and says she is OK.  I also contacted the second lady and she did not say anything untoward.  I was still worried so I booked a private clinic for a test, I had a 1 minute DUO test that was -VE.  I picked up then until I was reading about false negatives, I have now started questioning the test results.  The main fear has would be infecting those who I love so dear over a stupid immature action.
I still have the so-called symptoms that are very real to me and am considering another test.  Should I just trust the doctors, the testing and move on (more difficult to do in reality).

Your views would be very much appreciated.

The only thing that stands out from this boring wall of text is the unprotected vaginal sex.

The rest of your post is just narcissistic bullshit.

2008 was a long time ago. The window period for HIV testing is three months. Go and get tested for HIV and all the other commonly transmitted STI's.

I expect that you'll test negative for HIV. You should expect the same.

Normally I'd post a link to our Welcome Thread here but I can't be bothered.

Get a life.
