Any AIDS Activism Agencies in Indiana?
« on: April 23, 2007, 01:27:50 pm »
No, not AIDS agencies, but places in Indiana where there are AIDS activist meetings?  I live in northcentral Indiana, there's only one AIDS agency for like seven counties, and they don't do activism.  Does anyone know of anything?  Thanks!

Betty,

Here is one link with information.

And if you really want a challenge, find out why Indiana still has a waiting list for medications.  While I realize that the money for ADAP has been flat funded for years now, it is important to remember that if a state is not fully funding the drugs that keep people alive, they are in fact committing murder; as we saw in the last few months in South Carolina.  I don't care what a state says about their ADAP funding, if most of the 50 states are getting medications to their people who are HIV+, then the only thing that separates them from those that cannot, is simply mismanagement of funds.  Period!!!!

Hope this helps.

The Bible contains 6 admonishments to homosexuals,
and 362 to heterosexuals.
This doesn't mean that God doesn't love heterosexuals,
It's just that they need more supervision.

 :)Hello Betty,

I live in the Northeast section of Indiana....Fort Wayne area.  Is this anywhere near you?  I wondered what sort of activism you are seeking.  Do you mean personal rights, etc...or access to services?

There is so much going on in Indiana regarding services and the agencies set  up to accomplish this feat.  By this I mean the "care site" system set up by the Indiana State Dept of Health.

Hope you see the reply...

Take care,
Ron
