shingles?
« on: February 16, 2011, 10:24:07 pm »
Hi all,
I just wanted to see if anyone else experienced this before.  I went to the gym approx 2 weeks ago and when i got home i started feeling little pain on my right side and leg, then it started getting to where it hurt to touch my skin somewhat like a sunburn without the burn.

I went to the doctor for my 3 month blood work and I told him about it, he said that i am more than likely getting shingles eventhough i haven't gotten any outbreak or anything like that.  He told me that sometimes when one starts taking ARV and their immune system starts getting back to normal this thing can happen.  He gave me Valtrex to take and some pain meds as a precaution  I've been taking it for almost a week, but the pain is still there and skin sensitivity, but still no outbreak or rash.

Anyways just seeing if anyone else had this happen.  I'm guessing my second set of numbers will be in tomorrow or Friday, so hopefully my VL and all looks better.
