Anal Warts :(
« on: March 23, 2011, 01:40:51 am »
This whole thing is getting worse and worse. As if I wasn't having a tough time already, and then  last night I felt slightly itchy down under in the anal area and  on examining closely with a mirror, to my horror, I discovered warts down there! I know its caused by HPV, and the whole anal cancer thing is totally freaking me out. I am going to make an appointment with my doc and have them removed asap.

Please give me some advice

I went to the doc and he examined me. he said I had a few viral warts caused by HPV. he said they're small and he's going to treat them with some medicinal paint/gel which would shrink/remove them after application 2-3 times.

He said these viral warts are very very common and I needn't worry too much about the anal cancer thing cos that was caused by a different strain of HPV and is very very rare in any case.

Do you think i need to ask for further esamination?

Imiquimod Cream (Perrigo) is really good at getting rid of the warts.  My last bout took a couple of weeks of use to get rid of them.  HPV is very common and isn't something to be too worried about.  I'd only get further examined if your doc is cute.
Being honest is not wronging others, continuing the dishonesty is.
