FEELING TIRED
« on: July 20, 2008, 09:50:46 am »
I have recently been feeling tired and additional sleep doesn't always help.  Dont know whether to chalk it up to the summer heat or be concerned.

I also am losing interest in doing things and feel my internal happiness is slipping.

Physically I am also experiencing some joint pain, is this normal?

I am on Reyataz/norvir/truvada, cd4 over 600    %approx 28

Welcome to the club.

I'm on the same meds.  I don't know if it's the meds, the virus or a combination of the two.

And, you're right.  It could just be the hot summer days.  With August coming up, the dog days of summer, it only gets worse.  My motivation in the morning is sorely lacking.  Once I get started, though, I'm all right.

Try exercising.  What about depression?  I know that can also make you feel fatigued and listless.  Anti-depressants might help.

good luck.

I'm also on that combo, for five months now.  To some extent I feel the same way that you do, but don't feel any different now than I did before beginning meds.

Losing interest in things like hobbies, reading, listening to music, etc. -- is a major sign of depression.  Combined with your complaints of fatigue I'd get a referral to a mental health professional for a proper evaluation.  It's well known that 60% of HIV patients experience clinical depression at some point in their HIV diagnosis.

First though, I'd also get my testosterone levels checked by your HIV specialist just to rule that source out.
