Quick Question
« on: July 22, 2012, 02:53:16 pm »
So I recently went to the doctors and tested myself for basically the 3 women I have been with in the past. But there was a incident that happened about 2-3 weeks ago, where I fingered and gave oral to woman, I was slightly intoxicated. I remember what happened but not all the details, I wasn't sure if she may have been bleeding but I don't recall the taste since it is quite a distinct one, I only gave her oral for about 15-20 seconds. I'm stressing about it, and I have always had problems with anxiety. I know oral is basically just a theoretical risk but what if she may have been bleeding. I know her personally and she is quite young, but she did assure me that she was tested a few months before and was clean. But I know she has had nights similar to these in between testing and this night. That's really my only worry, and I know I won't be able to test with a sure answer until sometime in September. I know I did not have any cuts or sores in my mouth, and most of the fluids that were in my mouth were swallowed quite quickly.

Thank you in advance,
Verez  8)

You never had an exposure. HIV is not transmitted by oral sex and or fingering.

So I have nothing to worry about and no need for re-testing?

You didn't have an exposure and that means you don't need to test.

Recently got my results back and I tested positive for herpes. I'm still concerned about this one night fling, even if they chances of infection are astronomically low. Since it took place the 12th of July.

Its been around 2 months since a condom broke during sex and I'm not sure how long  it was broke for since I was slightly intoxicated. After all the anxiety, I no longer drink or have sex with women that I'm not in a relationship with, but I do have a question. Is a 2 month negative a sure thing, or would I need to go back at 3 months?

Verez,

Your "quick question" isn't so quick for me when I have to screw around merging your threads. I've merged your new thread into your original thread - where you should post all your additional thoughts or questions. It helps us to help you when you keep everything in one thread. It doesn't matter how long it has been since you last posted in your thread or if the subject matter is different.

If you need help finding your thread when you come here, click on the "Show own posts" link under your name in the left-hand column of any forum page.

Please also read through the Welcome Thread so you can familiarize yourself with our Forum Posting Guidelines. Thank you for your cooperation.

The vast majority of people who have actually been infected will seroconvert and test positive by six weeks, with the average time to seroconversion being only 22 days. A six week (or more) negative is highly unlikely to change, but must be confirmed at the three month point.

You are highly unlikely to end up hiv positive as the insertive partner in vaginal intercourse following a condom break, but you do need to test to make sure.

Had a quick question for reassurance, gave oral to woman and did taste blood in my mouth. Is there any risk of contracting HIV, she was most likely bleeding from having fingered her 3-5 minutes earlier. Am I at risk for infection? She also has only been with one other guy, they were in a relationship from when she was 16 till about a couple weeks ago.

OK, Verez.

As stated, you were not at risk. And as long as you consistently use condoms properly for vaginal and anal intercourse you will be well protected against the only confirmed ways of transmitting HIV sexually.
