There have to be enough AbFab fans in this group and I think we should give that filthy porn thread that's on its 5000th post a run for its money with our favorite quotes from a quality program that had very little sex in it, except for Patsy, the walking sperm bank.

OK, here goes:

Patsy: "I'm 39!"
Saffy:  "And I'm an ovum"

Eddy:  "Patsy's always been very good with genetics, sweetie."
Saffy:  "No wonder.  She's been a walking sperm bank most of her life."

Eddy:  "I'd better go change your sheets, sweetie."
Saffy:  "Don't bother, I've already done it.  One of the sheets was crawling out of its own accord in search of an ovum."

Edina - 'This is a sort of corpse in an open, oaken, oblong coffin. It's a dead body, Pats.'
Patsy - 'Yeah, but is it art?'
Edina - 'No Sweetie, it's my father.'

And that's just for starters.  I may sit here and type AbFab lines for hours.

"Sweetie-darling, you wore the LaCroix!"
"Yes, I'll always wear my LaCroix now, when I'm in town.  I've decided not to go to University.  Going to bum around europe, experimenting with drugs, wear denim as long as it's fashionable, then just get a flat in Paris and become a famous artist.  And people will know I owe it all to you."
"I know we've had our little ups and downs, sweetie, but I'll always sort of, well, quite love you"

FaBoo!

P.S.  If you want to submit French and Saunders's jokes or even Vicar of "Dimblebey" lines please feel free, but you'll receive only a 75% credit with your submission.

Kate Moss:  "Somewhere between crap and mediocre lies French and Saunders."

BOO! I love that show! I hardly ever see it! Years ago , they played a marathon and I put down the car keys and never left the house!

I have a hard time understanding all the words (what with the accents), so I can't quote any of it.

The funniest moment I remember was when they were in Marakesh or wherever and Patsy sold the daughter!!!

Shit I'm laughing so hard right now

Edina:  "It's called 'Colonic Irrigation', dear.  It's not to be sniffed at!"

"Why can't you just go to the toilet like normal people?"
"Is that what you really want me to be, darling? Normal?
Some boring old normal old toilet-goer?  Hhmm??"

"Anyone can go to the toilet, darling, they say"
"Well they obviously haven't seen you drunk."

"What are you looking at me like that for, darling?  I just said No!, No to drugs!"
"Well something kept you going until 3 in the morning."
"Just a little coke, sweetie."

"Listen, darling, because you might just learn something now.
He chooses the color based on who I was in a previous life, mm hmm."
"I suppose you were the Elizabeth Taylor of the Ming Dynasty?"
mumbles "Well, yes, something like that."
"Then how come in this life you've just ended up a mad fat old cow?"
"Will you stop using that word "fat," sweetie?!"

"Hello death, hello oblivion."

"How are they kind to trees?"
"Well they ain't made out of bloody wood, are they?!
How kind do you want them to be?"

"'You can drop the attitude, you know. You only work in a shop."

"She is a virgin - in a world where men will even turn to soft fruit for pleasure!  Draw your own conclusions."

"What is my email address?"
"old woman@ risk of being strangled by own daughter.com I should imagine."

Eddy:  "So you've been diddled.  It happens to all of us."
Patsy:  "But it wasn't that, Eddy.  It was the horrible realization I must have actually enjoyed playing ping pong!"

Eddy - 'Remember when we could wake up and feel fabulous?'
Patsy - 'Yeah, without pills.'

Patsy - 'What would I do if you died?'
Edina - 'GET CABS!'

Patsy - 'When you were two years old, we tied you to the central reservation of a motorway!'
Eddy - 'But you were like a homing pidgeon sweetie....back within a week!'

Patsy - "Neat? She was so anally retentive she couldn't sit down for fear of sucking up the furniture!"

Eddy - 'Patsy used to go out with Keith Moon, sweetie.'
Patsy - 'Sort of. I woke up underneath him in a hotel bedroom once.'
Eddy - 'Yeah... That was going-steady in the sixties, believe me, darling.'

Saffy - 'It just kicked!'
Patsy - 'Of course it did - who wouldn't? I'm rather tempted myself!'

Edina - "You may dress like a Christian missionary but the similarity end there."

Edina - "Inside of me, sweetie, inside of me, there is a thin person just screaming to get out."
Mother - "Just the one, dear?"

Eddie (to Saffron): Slowly it happens... you're gonna turn into me, you know.
Gran: And you'll turn into me, dear.
Eddie: Well, I've got Dr. Euthanasia's home phone number for that eventuality.

Eddie: Not another non-smoking cab, Pats... they must see you coming these days.
Patsy: Bloody asthmatic cab driver!  It was one of your account cabs, Eds... I think you should have him fired!
Saffy: Oh, so not only do you want him to die of passive smoking, you want to deny him a living of any kind!
Eddie: Passive... passive smoking?  I suppose we're shortening your lifespan, are we sweety?
Patsy: If only!
Eddie: For your information... you have to be taking great big lung bucketfulls to make any difference!
Patsy: Not little wasp breaths!

Eddie (quoting Leonard Cohen): And I... like a bird on a wire... like a drunk... in a midnight choir... I have tried... in my way... to be free!

I forgot!

Accountant: This one keeps coming up again and again... "Don Alfonso de Colombo."
(Pats makes sniffing gestures)
Eddie: That's uh... wicker baskets.

Oooh!

Eddie: Remember when you could just wake up in the morning and feel fabulous...
Patsy: Without pills.

Eddie: Look in the mirror, Pats and tell me what you see.
Patsy: Me looking fabulous.

Saffy (about Germaine Greer): I think she's great!
Eddie: Oh darling, she was once was... but Mr. Gravity's been very unkind to that woman.

Jackie: Well, never mind... too late to flush her now.

Saffy:  She inhaled our kitchen!

Diane: The flow from my essential oils are passing into you...
Edina: Yes...
Diane: They're flowing...
Edina: Yes...
Diane: Can you feel them?

Miss Queen honey....that show isnt on any more.  It was a British series, for awhile it was on the BBC channel on TV and still appears sometimes in reruns but I dont know where.  Is it on DVD now?  Maybe you can rent it.

Boo, you've done a terrible wonderful thing with this thread.

I'm wondering if you're getting a commission on all the AB FAB sets people will buy because of it.

I remember when the show was newly on in the U.S. and amongst everything else going on at ACT UP meetings there was an ongoing exchange of lines from the latest show.
Ah, memories......

Look here.  I order stuff from them occasionally.  The prices are good, the shipping is free and I usually get what I order in just a few days.

Or you can do what I did and rent them and somehow end up with copies.   ::)  ::whistles::

Thanks Netflix!  :D

Queen, it used to run a lot on Comedy Central.   I think they still break it out from time to time.

Mrs. M: "And now it's multiple choice questions!

How long was Margaret Thatcher Prime Minister?

A. 900 years
B. 3000 years
C. 11 years

Oh, it's a trick question!

They want you to say C. 11 years so I think it must be A. 900 years.
It was a very, very long time."
