ADAP COVERAGE AND VIRAL LOAD
« on: October 26, 2007, 10:23:29 am »
i got an application form for ADAP and this is in Michigan. I went through the form and it ofcourse requires you to be HIV positive(AIDS).  But it also says you have to have a detactable viral load.   That did not ake sense to me.  What if you moved and was on ADAP in a diffrent state and the viral load is undetactable.  Does it mean you cant qualify?  This sounded like some bull to me, I dont know what others think.  Unless they dont mean what they say.

wow.

I've never heard of that before.  I hope this is not indicative of a nation-wide trend.   I wish I could give you some concrete ideas but I'm baffled.

The form states that you have to submit labwork showing a detectable viral load OR positive antibody tests.  Or you can get a doctor to sign it

Sorry my keyboard locked up so I had to restart.  I also want to add that I'm guessing they do this so people  don't try to qualify without proof, and then give the meds away or sell them.
