Disposing of un-used Meds?????

When I was diagnosed I immediatley started Atripla. Unfortunately, I had an allergic reaction and have since switched to Complera. That has left me with about 15-20 doses of Atripla and I am not sure what to do with them. I know throwing them away or flushing them is bad for the environment, and at the costs of these drugs I'd just feel bad about throwing them away. Is there anyway of getting in touch with people who are on this medication who have struck financial hardship and are not able to pay for THEIR meds that I can just give these too?????

Perhaps if you contact your nearest ASO they will find some use for them.

I have switched combos a couple of times. Twice I ended up sending my leftovers to people in the States who came on the forums with crisis situations due to lack of reserves.
If I understand correctly, there is no official med exchange programs possible in the US because its against the law.  Has to be done on the down low.  Usually someone pops up on this forum who can use some extra meds.  Or find the informal exchange possibilities in your locale. 
I just found a bottle of intellence I forgot about.  Pity, as its now post dated.

If there is no person who needs the extras, then you return it to the pharmacy or the doctor to be disposed of.

Check out aidforaids.org   They collect and redistribute HIV meds to people that need them. They can collect from US citizens but cannot distribute back to people in the US so the meds go outside the US. I've given them LOTS of unused HIV meds.
