Lot of symptom

Hi! I've received an unprotected oral sex from CSW on 14/05/2012. After 2 weeks, I've start to have rash, night sweats, fatigue, join pain, mucle pain, sore throat & last week I notice there is a tonsil at my throat. Base on my reading in this forum, oral sex is zero risk, but with the symptom that I've, it's seems like that I've a risk.

I also read the old topic regardong seroconversion in this forum & base on the people experience, they've strep throat/tonsil & later was found to be +ve. There is also a post that they've test +ve more than 3 month after the seroconversion. It's really make me scare. I also did a reading & discovered that the tonsil among adult will only happen when the immune system is not good.

I did the antibodies rapid test yesterday (57 days after exposure) & the result is -ve. But base pn what I've read on the people experience, it's make me fresk out! The rapid test that they use to check my status is Intec & not sure the accurancy.

RapidRod, thank U for your reply. Additional info that I forgot to list out is I also have lost some weight. The symptom is bothering me a lot especially with the latest symptom (tonsil). All the symptom was come after the activity which I've never experience begore.

Base on your experience, is there any possibilities that I'm still at seroconversion period thus my body still not produce the antibodies or the test kit is not good enough (maybe it's an old generation test kit)? Thank U again on any reply on this..

Receiving oral is one of the most common of all sexual activities. In the entire history of the epidemic there has never been a confirmed case of transmission to a guy in that manner of HIV. Not one! It's safe to say you are not going to make history by becoming the first.

So whatever is causing your symptoms has nothing to do with HIV. And no HIV testing is necessary. In fact it's just a waste of money and resources so don't bother.

For future reference you need to know that other STDs are much easier to acquire than HIV. We recommend that anyone who is sexually active ought to have a full STD panel done at least once a year.

As for your current symptoms, you should be discussing them with your doctor. They have nothing to do with HIV. Period.

Hi! Andy, as per your advice, I should only test for the peace of my mind. I plan to have a test somewhere next week. Since the risk activity (mid May), I never have a sex with my wife. But, last night I've had sex with her. I'm using a condom.

The problem is, when I ejaculate, I didn't pull out my penis immediately. After a while, I pull out my penis & discovered that my cum was spill out from the condom (at the end). This could probably there is a lot of cum & notice that the cum is dilute.

Worst case scenario (in case I already infected) what will be the risk to my wife? I really worried as my wife are currently breast feeding my son. Should I stop her from continue to breast feed?

Your wife never had a risk either. Your cum was spilled OUTSIDE her body and hiv is NOT transmitted outside the body.

You're not going to test hiv positive anyway, because as you've been told, getting a blowjob is NOT a risk for hiv infection.

I've take the Elisa EIA test after 96 days of the activity & the result was -ve. During the consultation with the doctor, she mention that I'm still not past the windows period. According to her 3 months is too early & the conclusive result can only be obtain after 6 months. She did also mention that there is certain people who take 1 year before they turn +ve (according to her about 10%). I'm not sure where she pick the statistic. As from my reading CDC said 97% will seroconvert in 3 month while the remaining will be do within 6 month. I don't want to argue with her as she who have the title of doctor..

Your wife should continue to breastfeed the baby. She cannot give the baby a virus she does not have and for which she has not been at risk.

If you're worrying about the baby's health, the worst thing your wife could do is to stop breastfeeding. Breastfeeding is the healthiest thing for both baby and mother.

The window period has been at three months for quite a few years now. In fact, we know that the vast majority of people who have actually been infected will seroconvert and test positive by six WEEKS, with the average time to seroconversion being only 22 days.

While a six week negative is highly unlikely to change, it must be confirmed at the three month point. It's rare indeed for someone to test negative at six weeks and positive at three months.

Only people who are on chemotherapy for cancer, anti-rejection drugs following organ transplant, or those who have been injecting street drugs, every day, for years need to test out to six months, and even they will normally test positive by three months.

Your doctor needs to update her hiv knowledge. It sounds like her level of understanding stalled somewhere around 1990. Doctors are NOT God and they don't always know everything.
