Title: Mitocondrial Toxicity~ Myopathy
Post by: ddmpls on October 06, 2006, 09:59:37 pm
I am trying to recover from a severe bout with Mitochondrial Toxicity, Myopathy and Acidosis related to AZT. I have taken AZT off and on since 1986. I guess I just took too much!
I discontinued AZT when the rheumatologist I was referred to by my Infectious Disease Doc. diagnosed this toxicity. This was about 3 months ago. I have improved a bit, regained some muscle mass, my pain is less and muscle cramping is a bit better. Has anyone had this experience, have you fully recovered? If so how long did it take you to get a reasonable amount of strength back?
