I've resolved to be able to walk soon.  This lack of mobility it taking its toll and I'll have to restart my entire exercise regimen.  Much more blobbing around will push me over the weight cliff.

I am going to figure out how to post pictures here so everyone can see my lovable doggy, and the lovable cat from hell. ;D

I am also going to have a better diet for myself, less junk food and fast food.

I resolve to become a kindler, gentler Miss P -- full of love for my fellow life travellers, cognizant of the fact that a strong ship requires supportive semen.

I would also like to increase my intake of nitrite laden cured pork products so that I may obtain cancer earlier than expected and die.

And, of course, church attendance -- I've gone to church two weeks in a row now and will become a member of Gloria Dei by next weekend.

I'd also like to double my klonnie intake in 2013, for shits 'n' giggles natch.

I don't make resolutions, just think of a few things and term them "goals."  For me that's easier to deal with than something so unchangeable.

Goals seem to be all inclusive with the exercise thing; that includes me, plus losing some lbs.

It's been over 3 months since I quit smoking and my goal is to continue that.  Every time I go back it's harder to quit again.

I'd also like to put some cash in savings.  I have no emergency fund, it was all spent on Christmas and grandchildren.  I just found out my car needs a serpentine belt, so that will have to be saved for.

Also do improve on my job performance.  I believe there's always room for improvement.
I've never killed anyone, but I frequently get satisfaction reading the obituary notices.-Clarence Darrow

Be kind.

This is as likely as Philicia's resolution.  Though I do notice you said "be kind" (not kinder).  Baby steps.

I've no resolutions for 2013.  I will continue to be same unhealthy, whorish, meaner than a junkyard bitch, lazy slob. At any rate that's what's gonna happen even if I devise some grandiose plan to improve myself :/

I just want to know if Miss P is moving to San Antonio, or Wumpy is moving to Philly in 2013.  The will they or won't they is getting old.  Plan the wedding already.  Make this your resolutions.  Who here will be the brides maids?  I will be the flower girl.  I haven't wanted to see a wedding, since Alice married Sam the butcher.  ;)

Everyone Needs to remember to eat their cabbage with Pennies in it today! Otherwise you will have shitty luck all year.

Barring that Black eyed Peas will suffice, but why risk it? go with the cabbage and pennies.

Black eyed pea consumption for New Year's Day dinner is a southern thing -- I was forced to eat them every year, and only then. My mother loves them. I think they are the most vile, nasty thing in the world. Even worse than beef liver and onions.

I don't think anyone indulges in that where I live now.

I would like to kindly request a detailed description of what you think queso is. I rather doubt that it's authentic freshly pressed queso fresco sitting in cheesecloth, or quesillo Oaxaca. Or are you referring to left-over felching secretions from your Justin Beiber sex doll? Should I send you that animated .gif file with hot milk shooting out of that twink's rear end? It's ever so unfortunate that we can no longer post such delectable internet discoveries!

  • Get out an socialize more
  • Finish paying off credit cards
  • Excercising more. Starting with getting out and walking more. Since the diagnosis, I've been kind of under house arrest, and now that I am feeling good again, I need to start working some muscles. It's been too long.
  • To read more. I got a Kindle last year (2011) for Christmas, and barely use it. Part of the problem is I can never find any good books...
  • To stay as healthy as possible :) So far, it's looking good.
Like BT, I think of them more as goals. I never stick to my resolutions...maybe this year I can accomplish my list of goals.

Now that I re-read Wumpy's homemade meal it sounds about three times as greasy as a White Castle bag of sliders. Do you actually consume all of that pork grease without taking imodium? And I had to look up how to cook "fried cabbage" and it looks like it's cooked in bacon grease. Looks horrible.

It's "slap your mammy" good! Yes, has to be fried in bacon grease. My southern peeps know what I'm talkin bout. ;)

and I've never had to take Imodium, my movements are something to marvel at, perfect in color, texture and consistency.

We were invited for cabbage and black eye peas.  But, we decided to do Chinese instead.  I got this fortune cookie.

I am going to try to do more exercise for 2013.  Started three hours of kettlebells a week and two hours Brazilian Jujitsu. By the time I am 60 I want my purple belt.

I just want to know if Miss P is moving to San Antonio, or Wumpy is moving to Philly in 2013.  The will they or won't they is getting old.  Plan the wedding already.  Make this your resolutions.  Who here will be the brides maids?  I will be the flower girl.  I haven't wanted to see a wedding, since Alice married Sam the butcher.  ;)

Now this would make a good sitcom...kind of a modern day "Green Acres" (for those of us old enough to remember that show).

.... (how do I put in my picture of a young Zsa Zsa Gabor?)

I looked up seasonal recipes for NYE and Pennsylvania Dutch and they eat roasted pork and sauerkraut with homemade applesauce. Some people supplement this with some oddity called chowchow which evidently is some nasty sludge looking material that is pickled. And it's supposed to be Wos Wit Chow-chow which I looked up and have never heard of. I'm sure I've seen stuff like this at my supermarket though.

I had a friend in college who was from Baltimore and they ate sauerkraut on New Years too even though they were Italian. But they had kielbasa with it not roast pork which seems Polish to me. Fortunately since I don't, nor have I ever as an adult, lived where I grew up I don't feel tied to any tradition on a seasonal basis.

I suppose sauerkraut is healthier than frying it in bacon grease. Am I the only person who throws away my bacon grease and refuses to ever cook with it?

ps: I'm about to make grits and skillet-seared salt-cured country ham for breakfast!

My grand parents made home made chow chow and slathered it on all kinds of food . I never cared for it but it was a staple at their table .

If done right chow-chow makes a tasty relish. Done right black eyed peas are delish. I make a black eyed pea humus that's a big hit.

I'm unashamedly bragging on my black eye pea recipe . Every single person who had them asked for the recipe , even the children that were there asked for more to their moms amazement .

...

Evidently so.  I made some nice slab bacon on Christmas morning -- that's the first time I've cooked bacon since I moved into my place in 2010.  I couldn't resist saving the bacon grease, because I knew it would make some delicious cream gravy that I slathered over homemade biscuits on New Year's morning.

Bon Appetit!

I am totally with you on this one.  I find the practice vile!!!!

My granny cooked bacon every morning and I watched in horror as she woul dip bread in the hot bacon grease and eat it.  I can only imagine what her arteries looked like.  She might have lived a lot longer if she ate better.  She died in her sleep of a massive heart attack.  She was only 94.  My other grandmother is still alive.  At 93, we won't even attempt to change her ways.  But I guarantee you'll find a huge vile can of bacon greast in the cabinet.

No, but I cant remember the last time I cooked bacon at home.  Must be a southern thing.

I am reading a book right now called "Fall of Giants" and they do this.  They put bacon grease on bread and eat it.  Granted the book takes place in 1919 in Wales.
