I don't want to permanently ban you and I'm not going to. We all have our moments, we all have a monster inside. Next time you feel the need to vent to that extent, feel free to PM me instead of doing it in public.

Growler - I was surprised to see you communicating like that. It's not at all like you. I wonder if you didn't just "lose it" - happens to everyone.

I hope you are well. I am more worried that you think you are a monster or something horrible and wanted to be banned. Really don't understand why you are feeling so bad about yourself and this forum. I always look forward to your colorful threads. I hope you'll come back.

As for the OP in that post, I have had a few PMs with her. She was, in fact, thinking about bug-chasers and gift-givers - all that old weird scene. She didn't have the vocabulary or the information about any of that. So she misspoke -- in wondering here in this forum, why that group thinks having HIV is "cool." No big deal really, everybody needs to live and learn.

Dude you're taking way too much credit and please quit patting the aids infected on the head. It's very irritating. Growler's tirades have nothing to do with you and hopefully his "friends" realize it. Until he gets a handle on his monsters I'm afraid this side of an otherwise pleasant personality will appear on occasion.

OK, you've given yourself a self imposed "timeout". I get that. I've done it a few times myself. I really enjoyed your contributions and found your humor refreshing. I certainly miss that and I'm pretty certain you miss it too. I hope you're still following the forums and see the positive comments.

It's also a tad selfish to leave us wondering and worrying about your well being. I sincerely hope all is going well and that you have the fortitude to "man up" and get past this.

It really doesn't matter what we may want, but obviously we care about you. I've read your posts, so I know some of your demons and I understand how we each must find our own way in dealing with our issues. I also know that we create barriers, some to keep things in and others to keep people out. The thing about friends, is they are the ones who care enough, to scale those barriers, to get to the real person on the other side. All I can offer is my hope that you find the answers you seek and remind you that there are people here who truly care about you.

I hope you will return, for whatever reason(s) and we'll be here when you do. Just remember that turning away from people who care for you, does nothing to heal anyone. We like you just the way you are and if that means helping you through some "rough" spots, then so be it. Again, that's what friends do.

Thanks guys for the messages of support and also to the moderators for their eternal patience.

I guess I owe the forum an explanation for my behavior.....and lets be clear here it's not an excuse just and explanation.

I've been having some health issues and although my CD4 count is good I was started on Atripla a couple of weeks ago. Unfortunately I've subsequently discovered the hard way that for some individuals it might have side affects especially if you've had depression in the past. Long story short, I've stopped the Atripla and am now feeling more "normal."

Not much of a story I now but like I said not an excuse simply the facts. I've still got some fun times ahead dealing with the underlying health stuff but I do get to play "difficult patient" so there's a bright side to the situation

Growler, I know first hand of the psychiatric problems common to those taking Atriple (the Sustiva portion of it is NOTORIOUS for rage and suicidal behavior).

It's sad that this severe - if not deadly - side effect is glossed over, both in the literature and in the forums. You should never feel alone in what you are experiencing. Trust me, you are not.

I wonder if the doc had known went by the knickname Growler, if sustiva would have been tried....
I went nuts on sustiva and the worse part was, the doc pleaded ignorance when I started mentioning it to him. I practically bit a student's head off one day, but walked out the room, collected myself and realized I wasn't "me".

I hope your new combo will reassure you that these drugs can be pretty neutral.
