Amy Winehouse is an English singer, drunk, crackwhore and soon to be corpse. Think of her as Britney Spears but with talent.

She certainly seems to be hell bent on self destruction. I'm sure the press constantly hounding her like a bunch of animals helps as well. It's a shame really because her voice is amazing and her last album back to black was one of the best i've heard for a while. People are actually going to enter that competition aren't they!

I just can't criticize these people. I've certainly had my own messy moments... publicly even. As in laid out on the middle of a dance floor full of 1,000 people, with the music shut off and the DJ shining a light on me... all during the Millennium celebration.

Horribly embarrassing, but it had been a long night and I think my Kaletra doubled the effects of everything that year. I'm sure I had 3 different drugs in my body and an assorted array of alcohol.

In my defense, I was dressed very nicely.

I can't believe that such powerful voice comes out of what appears to be an emaciated, drug ravaged, jewish, drag queen.

Her blackcent is on the money too. The first time I heard her, I was totally thinking motown...

I was never sure who Amy Winehouse or Britney Spears were until they started showing up on my News page. I never read any of the articles... but, I did recently receive a free iPod, left by vandals in the neighborhood cemetary.

If my neighbors do not see me for a few days or if my dog barks, and sometimes if my dog does not bark, they get concerned for my health and come over. I told George about the iPod, he told the police and they have a free iPod.

Does anyone have a link on the talents (or lack of) of either Amy Winehouse or Britney Spears? I are curious

Amy Winehouse is brilliant.

As for taking lots of drugs, having fun and surviving stakes, she puts poor little heath to shame.

I used the word "Jewish" as an adjective. Let's look at Amy Winehouse for a moment...

Emaciated - check
Drug ravaged - check
Jewish - check
Drag Queen - (while she is a genetic female, her 300lbs of make up and campy attire are certainly drag queenesque) - check

Where did I suggest that Jews can't sing? Barbra Streisand is Jewish and apparently can sing. While I find her songs to be garbage and vocal tone to be grating and irritating at best, millions of others disagree.

Thank you for the link. I believe if I was listening to the radio, I would have liked her more better. I believe I will refrain from the free IPod offer as it may be too difficult to collect. Speaking of drug ravaged singers, I believe Janis Joplin would be almost 60 by now and not too long ago Nick Gravanites recorded lyrics to Buried Alive in the Blues. He performs almost every Friday night in a club in Occidental. Have the best day

While I was in the clinic last time I kept singing (lightly, of course) "they try to make me go to rehab.. i say NO NO NO..."..

I wonder what my therapist was thinking though..

But "Back to Black" has to be one of the best pop CDs of last year. Lets hope no one gets the iPod, and there are many cases that publicly messed up popstars do manage to survive.. and become boring..

Courtney Love (apparently clean now), (lesser known in the US but big in the UK) Shaun Ryder of Happy Mondays (who's also clean now), Pete Doherty, formerly of the band the Libertines and currently dating the also publicly self-destructive Kate Moss, both still going in and out of rehabs
