Title: can someone please sort me out.
Post by: ocean44 on January 03, 2007, 07:06:05 pm
Hello everyone. I will tell you what has happenened and what is playing on my mind. In order to avoid hiv , I frottaged (rubbed) in between the buttcrack of a sex worker, while which I felt "something wet" near the shaft of my penis. I did not see blood, and decided to complete with a handjob. I really started worrying as to what the secretion could be. I tried to be as safe as possible, and now that  incident is stoping me from studying All I do now is worry. I tried telling myself, ok the anus/anal sphinter  is not a mucosal membrane I think so no worries, but  the "wet
stuff is driving me out of my mind!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Also given the fact that I completed with a handjob, it has also made me think hmm was another customer's smemn on the bottle. Man this bites. I really at this point do not know how to separate fact from fiction.

ocean,

Hiv is a fragile, difficult to transmit virus, that is primarily transmitted INSIDE the human body. Frottage is not a risk for hiv infection because it happens outside the body. It doesn't matter what the wet was, it wasn't a risk. And forget about semen on the outside of a bottle, even if it was contaminated with hiv, it would not be capable of infecting you.

Please read through the Welcome Thread (http://forums.poz.com/index.php?topic=220.0) and follow the Transmission Lesson link. Here's what else you need to know: You need to be using condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, every time, no exceptions until such time as you are in a securely monogamous relationship where you have both tested for ALL STIs together. To agree to have unprotected intercourse is to consent to the possibility of being infected with a sexually transmitted infection. Sex with a condom lasts only a matter of minutes, but hiv is forever.

Have a look through the condom and lube links in my signature line so you can use condoms with confidence.

Anyone who is sexually active should be having a full sexual health care check-up, including but not limited to hiv testing, at least once a year and more often if unprotected intercourse occurs.

If you aren't already having regular, routine check-ups, now is the time to start. As long as you make sure condoms are being used for intercourse, you can fully expect your routine hiv tests to return with negative results. Don't forget to always get checked for all the other sexually transmitted infections as well, because they are MUCH easier to transmit than hiv.

Dear Ocean

Listen to Ann, you are not at risk in the situation you described. Whether there was semen on the bottle, even HIV infected semen, you are not at risk.

So, please stop worrying and get on with your studies.

You are okay.

Hi Ann, WTGR, thanks for answqering me back.  The posibility that I have had zero risk eludes me as  when I read about this topic
it is described as "lower risk"............ ok, does that mean I should worry less about it but worry? I guess I will follow Dr.HHH's advice and get teh six week test as probably 90% convert during this time. But it really messes with your mind, when you think that you are doing all to protect oneself. I
try to even have only protected insertive oral as my only risk . Would appreciate comments.

Adonis,

You've already been asked to stop doing this. Keep it up and you will no longer be welcome here.

Ocean,

You didn't read "lower" risk here, you read NO risk.

You did not have a risk.

Thanks Ann, I read your autobiography, and I just found out about your
status, which should have not been a surprise to me since the website
is called aidsmeds.com. I hope that your cd4 is well and you are on
doing well on your ddi/ddc/3tc HAART.

As for myself, I try to reason out why I am feeling as if I may get infected when considering the risk factors which would make u lol.
1. protected insertive oral.
2. frottage/rubbing with unidentified "wet stuff"
3.HJ

Maybe I was expecting the dry hump to be  totally dry, and that it was not so dry is screwballing me.

Ocean,

I am hiv positive, but I don't know whose information you read because I am not on any hiv meds yet.

There have been long-term studies of couples where one is positive and one is negative. In the couples who used condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, but no barrier for oral activities, not one of the negative partners became infected with hiv. Not one. This shows us two things. One, condoms are very effective for the prevention of hiv transmission. Two, oral sex is much lower risk than previously believed. We now have the evidence that oral sex (GIVING blowjobs, not getting) is a very, VERY low risk activity where hiv transmission is concerned.

Not one person, in over 25 years of this pandemic, has become infected with hiv through getting a blowjob, frottage or handjob. None of these things are risks for hiv infection.

You didn't have a risk.
