Grandma's Passing...
« on: April 29, 2007, 12:21:25 am »
Hi everyone,
just wanted to tell you that my dear wonderful grandma passed away a few hours ago when her heart gave out during a peaceful slumber. It has been a rough 2 weeks, but I'm very thankful that she went the way she did, peaceful and painless. She will be greatly missed especially for her efforts and support of orphans and the continued charity to the Buddhist monasteries of Vietnam. Rest in peace Grandma.
Love Always,

Oh, Minh!  I'm so sorry to hear of your loss! I lost one grandmother last summer and it was a similar situation, a couple of rough weeks before she passed.  It's not an easy thing, and I send big hugs your way.

Best to you and all the people she touched,
Creighton

Thanks everyone for your lovely words, support and condolances...it really means a lot to me and my family. I'm actually quite surprised at the amazing response. The family funeral procession in Maryland this morning was a success and I'm proud to say that I was able to put my floral designing skills (very gay, I know) to good use and made a beautiful alter (4 vases and a floral topiary -which isn't in the picture). The viewing for the general public is this Saturday. The Vietnamese Buddhist community is aware of my grandma's passing and this Sunday, 4 Buddhist monasteries across Hanoi and Saigon (aka Ho Chi Minh City) volunteered to pray/chant simultaneously for my grandma as she is creamated that day. All her ashes will be taken back to Vietnam where it will be housed with my grandfather at a monastery that my grandma went to when she lived in Vietnam. Thanks everyone and rest in peace grandma :-*

Love,
Terpie (aka Minh)
