2 bad experiences
« on: October 23, 2008, 10:08:24 am »
Dear Experts

Last night I used my friend bed , and usually I sleep without any cloth on me so all my body specially my genital was in direct contact with bed , but at morning I mentioned some spots on the bed , so to know it was what I smell it and I touch by hand , then I touch my eyes .

Talking with my friend I asked him about those spots on his bed , so he start to laugh and say that hours before using this bed , he was making sex with her girl friend and some vaginal fluid and sperm touch the bed.

My question is : any risk to be infected by HIV from this incident  if sperm was dry or not?? knowing that my friend is sexually active and I don’t like to ask people about personal things , like “ using condoms or testing or having any high risk experience “ , so my question is based on : my friend or her girl friend having HIV.

The second incident i was in a motel , and When I went inside my room , I cut my finger with the light switch , because there was in plastic and broken , but at same time I mentioned brown  blood on it , so sure another person cut also his finger as I do , I cleaned with some water and a tissue .

My question is what if the peron who cut his finger have HIV , any risk ?

Thank You

Lami

You were never at risk and you've already been advised in another forum.

You are worrying needlessly. HIV is a fragile virus which is absolutely not transmitted from the surface of objects like sheets, doorknobs, furniture, clothing, haircut nicks at the barbershop and other common situations like that.

HIV needs a very receptive setting to transmit as in unprotected vaginal or anal intercourse.

As I said, you have nothing to worry about. Let it go and get on with your life.

Lami,

If doesn't matter if there was menstrual blood on the sheets. As you have been told, hiv cannot be transmitted from items in the environment.

It doesn't matter how many times you ask this question, or how many different details you tell us, the answers are going to be the same. You CANNOT become infected with hiv through touching your eye after touching any body fluids which are on something like a sheet, table, doorknob, lightswitch, underwear, glasses, knives, forks, spoons, cups, plates.... anything you can dream up.

Hiv is transmitted INSIDE the human body - when people have unprotected anal or vaginal intercourse. Use condoms, correctly and consistently, and you will avoid hiv infection. It really is that simple! Read through all three condom and lube links in my signature line so you can use them with confidence.

Lami,

No, it's nothing like a needle-stick in a medical setting.

If you're worried, go test. Don't be surprised by your negative result.

One last question

What if 2 persons trying to catch a flying sharp object , both of them cut hands at the same time , Any risk to catch HIV.?? the sharp thing was a knife that a friend throw it we tried to catch it !:(

Based on your archive you ll tell me that HIV don’t survive as long outside body , so there s no risk , but my case was without any laps of time , it was at same time , so no time to the virus to be inactive ??

Lami,

Again, NO RISK.

These questions you're bringing here are all about hiv phobia and not actual hiv transmission. We've already told you how hiv is and is not transmitted. If you can't put your fears behind you, seek face-to-face counseling. We cannot help you with that here.

If you've read the Welcome Thread before posting like you're supposed to, you will have read the following posting guideline:

Quote
Anyone who continues to post excessively, questioning a conclusive negative result or no-risk situation, will be subject to a four week Time Out (a temporary ban from the Forums). If you continue to post excessively after one Time Out, you may be given a second Time Out which will last eight weeks. There is no third Time Out - it is a permanent ban. The purpose of a Time Out is to encourage you to seek the face-to-face help we cannot provide on this forum.

If you keep coming back here with these no-risk environmental-object questions, you'll be given a time out. Please consider yourself warned.
