some questions? doctor. worried
« on: January 07, 2007, 08:37:43 pm »
Dear doctor,I had a recent encounter. I had read the lesson about it,but i am not assume. very worried.

I had a hangnail on the back of my finger, the width of it is about 2 mm , and i pulled it off,and then it bleed

slightly at once. fifty minutes  later , i used the finger fingering the  woman's  vaginal for 3 minutes deeply.

Assuming the woman was hiv+.....Chances of contraction?

There's never been a documented case of transmission via fingering, and uncountable such episodes later it's safe to say you won't history by becoming the first.

HIV is not an easy virus to transmit. If the woman you were with was HIV+, and that's a BIG if, it's the fluids in her cervical area which would be potential risky. That's not an area you would have been able to reach with your finger.

You are worrying needlessly and there is no need for testing.

Read the lesson on transmission on this site. There's a link to it in the Welcome thread which opens this section. You get all the basics there about HIV transmission.

Cheers,

you say :it's the fluids in her cervical area which would be potential risky. That's not an area you would have been able to reach with your finger.

Q1:
you meant my finger is shorter  and  can not  reach there? how deep there?  waiting for  your  reply.
I felt i perhaps  had reached there, because i used my fourth finger.
Q2:
fifty minutes  later, my finger will still be bleeding?  i  do  not  assume.   I am also  afraid of this.

Monkey,

Fingering is NOT a risk for hiv infection. It does not matter about your hangnail.

I  had read this  below  many times.
------------------------------------------
Digital-Anal or Digital-Vaginal Sex

Digital-anal or digital-vaginal sex is the clinical term for "fingering" either the anus or the female genitals (including the vagina). While it is theoretically possible that someone who has an open cut or fresh abrasion on his or her finger or hand can be infected with HIV if coming into contact with blood in the anus or vagina or vaginal secretions, there has never been a documented case of HIV transmission via fingering.
------------------------------------------

can you explain  what is 'an open cut or fresh abrasion on the finger '?

My  hangnail had bleed before fifty minutes  , it was a little  hangnail.    fifty minutes later it did not bleed,  I want to know if this  is    'an open cut or fresh abrasion on the finger '?  worried     ,  thank you  doctor.

What you are thinking about as an open wound wasn't. Not 50 minutes later. And even if it was, if you re-read the quote you've posted, it says "theoretical" risk.

In the real world of HIV there's never been a documented case of transmission in this manner. Given how common it is for people to have hangnails, cuts, bruises, scrapes and other such on fingers and hands, we would have known long before today if this was a means for HIV transmission.

You aren't going to make history by becoming the first. Really.

Stop with the drama, you don't get infected with fingering or receiving a blowjob. You may not want to die, but dude, it's bound to happen one day.

Fingering is not a risk for hiv infection.

Getting a blowjob is not a risk for hiv infection. Not one person has ever become infected this way and you will not be the first.
