Yesterday I met this guy and we fooled around.  We had some very intense french kissing that went on for at least 10 mins.  We also did some vanilla.  He mostly sucked me, but I sucked him a little too.  No cum was exchanged, but who knows about the precum.  He also had a 5 oclock shadow, so I had some redness on my face above my lips after all that intense kissing.   I found out that he is HIV+

Should I get tested, do PEP?

Please advise

Raz ???

No, you should not do PEP. Nothing you did put you at risk for HIV transmission.

Neither kissing nor receiving oral are risks for HIV transmission. And giving oral is only theoretically a risk. Your saliva has over a dozen elements and proteins which very effectively prevent the transmission of viable HIV.

The ONLY confirmed risks for the sexual transmission of HIV are unprotected vaginal and anal intercourse.

If you haven't already read our lesson on Transmission, please do. There is a link to it in the Welcome thread which opens this section. You have no cause for concern this time nor any need for testing.

Glad to hear.  But I do want to point out there are some ignorant websites out there that state it is possible to get it through saliva.

thx

Hello community,

I few weeks ago i met this guy on-line into wrestling.  He's from SF and I'm suppose to be visiting there in a couple weeks.  We agreed to wrestle.
We are both into pro style wrestling, which involves blows, and slams and other rough stuff.  Its not like submission where you are just basically rubbing up against each other.
I disclosed my negative status and asked him his.  He responded that he was poz but undetectable.
My question is, am I at risk if i wrestle him?  in pro style wrestling u can get scraped up and cut sometimes.  Im just wondering if I should pass on this opportunity.  He's a really hot guy, and I don't want to hurt his feelings by passing on him.

I would appreciate any feedback.  And please no bitchy comments or jokes.  ;D

 Thanks

To date no one has been documented as having been infected through wrestling. Of course, you must be aware that most pro wrestling is carefully choreographed to avoid major injury. I would imagine recreating those types of moves without a proper trainer and referee might easily get out of hand. I'm thinking it's a bit closer to Fight Club.

The risk of HIV transmission is negligible. Hep C, however, is far more robust. Though there has been no documentation of anyone being infected via the methods you describe, keep in mind that said documentation stems from professionally monitored and controlled environments.

In other words, its impossible to quantify a risk when the parameters surrounding the activity are ill-defined, not moderated, and subject to great change.

Razor,

Please also read through the Welcome Thread so you can familiarize yourself with our Forum Posting Guidelines. Thank you for your cooperation.

As Jonathan said, there has never been a documented case of hiv transmission during sport of any kind. Wrestle with this guy in SF all you like - the only way that you might possibly end up hiv positive because of him is if you have unprotected anal sex with him.

Speaking of sex, you CAN have sex with him, just make sure condoms are used and used properly. Read through the condom and lube links in my signature line so you can use them with confidence.

And please no bitchy comments or jokes.  ;D

Bitchy? Us? Puh-leeeze!

Seriously. Don't turn this guy down just because he's poz. You'd be missing out on a great time. Just make sure you use condoms for anal intercourse, correctly and consistently, and you will avoid hiv infection. It really is that simple!!!

Thanks for the non-bitchy comments  ;D.  So should i ask him if he has Hep C, or one of the other ones, or any other disease too?

Fortunately the guy has pro experience, so I don't think it will turn into a fight club, but u never know

Razor,

You can ask him if you want - but you'd probably come across as overly paranoid. You're unlikely to end up with any disease through wrestling with him. If either one of you starts bleeding while you're wrestling, you should stop and take care of the cut and put a bandage on it before continuing. This is just good practice and something you should be doing with anyone.

Seriously, calm down. Go wrestle and have fun!
