Title: Someone please answer this...Very worried!!!!
Post by: ddboy666 on August 29, 2010, 09:06:19 am
 My situation is the following:
I performed cunnilingus on a woman (unknown status) and I am aware the  HIV risk here is almost zero. However, I had a visible lesion on my tongue from a recent episode of Herpes (on my tongue) I am worried this lesion could highly increase my risk of getting infected. The lesion was not bleeding but looked more like a crack in the tongue. Please help!!!!!
It wasnt bleeding but when I open the crack by folding my tongue, I can see the "reddish" inner part of my tongue. The exposure was 10-15 seconds but still can't vaginal secretions penetrate through this open crack on my tongue??
From what I gather Cunnilingus is almost zero risk unless one has sores or lesions in the mouth as those are considered open doors letting the virus in.
Yes I wasnt bleeding but a relatively fresh lesion is an opening, no? So please explain

dd,

You weren't at risk. Saliva contains over a dozen different proteins and enzymes that damage hiv and render it unable to infect.

However, you should not be giving oral sex to anyone when you have a herpes outbreak. While you weren't at risk for hiv in your actions, your actions most likely have resulted in giving her genital herpes. Keep your damn herpes to yourself!

Thank You Ann for your reply - However is the saliva a sufficient barrier?? The lesions are considered a bit of an open wound....isnt that at least a bit of a concern?
Why do we then hear: "Cunniliingus is safe as long as one doesnt have open sores or lesions in his mouth that would  facilitate the entry of  the virus..." end of quote?
Your opinion is highly valued.

No one in the history of the pandemic has been documented to have been infected through cunnilingus. This is why there are virtually ZERO lesbians infected with HIV.

I understand...but doesn't the herpes lesion make any difference?
Can someone please explain ?
I understand Cunnilingus is not a risk but what about cunnilingus while having a herpes lesion on the tongue????

dd,

You know, I really don't feel too inclined to hold your hand on this. You weren't at risk and that's that.

It's disturbing that you're so wrapped up in your own NO RISK situation that you don't seem to give a fig about the fact that YOU have, in all probability, passed on an STI to this woman. Grow up and start taking some responsibility for your herpes like those of us with hiv have to take responsibility for OUR virus stopping with us. Your virus needs to stop with you as well.

Title: Fissured tongue - Andy Velez please reply
Post by: ddboy666 on August 31, 2010, 09:30:52 pm
So here I am again...let me summarize:

I gave unprotected cunnilingus to a woman (unknown status) while having fissures on my tongue. I dont know whether this is oral herpes or not, but there were fissures on my tongue (not bleeding).
I would appreciate a reply.
Thanks.

You are again worrying needlessly. Your saliva has over a dozen proteins and elements which very effectively prevent the transmission of HIV through giving oral. There's no need for testing nor for further concern on your part.
