I would like to say that I respect the amount of time that is spent helping people, such as myself deal with the unknown, which can be very hard on the nerves.

Anyways, I have read the transmission lesson and many other posts on the site, and my question is very similar.  I had a one night stand with a girl of unknown status.  I performed oral on her, she performed on me, and then I gave her oral once more.  I know that it is a low risk situation, but would the fact that we made out immediately after the first time I went down on her and the fact that I had two canker sores that were just starting to heal in my mouth significantly increase my risk.  I also brushsed my teeth right after the second time I gave her oral, and do occasionally have some bleeding gums despite good oral health.  I am not really worried about receiving a blowjob from her, but I did have an issue where I thought I had a urinary tract infection about a month after the encounter.  Upon seeing a doctor, he thought it would be odd for me to have gotten a UTI or an STD, i had no discharge, no sign of herpes, and he thought i would have noticed it before a month had went by.  Initially he thought my urine had a slightly higher white blood count than normal, but after getting the results back from the lab it was clean. 

I am really not sure what to think.  All that is running through my mind is that I have gotten HIV through this one encounter, I have never had unprotected sex before and was in a monogamous relationship with 1 girl through high school and college and we had separated a half a year ago. I have been under a lot of stress/anxiety lately from work and this encounter and don't know if this is causing some of my symptoms.  I have been experiencing pulsating pain in my legs and arms very frequently over the past few weeks (i don't know what myalgia really feels like but could it be this), i have been a lot less regular bowel movements than normal, have had a light cold (nasal congestion for a few weeks), and have been breaking out more than normal. The girl I was with says that she gets tested every six months and is clean, but I think I would be at the biggest risk from her if she would have recently became positive and had a high viral load, so the negatives every six months don't really mean much to me, plus i don't know if I can trust her. 

Does this sound like I am have unwarranted worrying or do I have a legitimate risk.  I plan on getting tested, it has been six weeks, at 12/13 weeks to be sure, but was thinking about going soon to try and quell some of my fears, and if I do test positive I could start developing a plan to live a long full life.

Please don't use terms like "clean" when referring to a persons HIV status. It's very offensive. It suggests that HIV positive people are in someway "dirty". I am HIV+ and I'm willing to bet I'm cleaner than you. By the way it doesn't matter if you're just repeating what she said, you shouldn't say it. Especially when you're asking HIV positive people for assistance.

Now that we've covered that let's look at your issue.

This is not a "low risk situation", it's a no risk situation. Receiving a blow job (protected or otherwise) is not a risk for HIV infection. Nor is performing unprotected oral sex on a woman. You do not need to test for HIV as a result of this encounter.

We recommend that all sexually active adults have a full STD screen performed at least once a year. Twice is better. There are other STDs such as chlamydia and gonorrhoea which are far more prevalent and transmissible than HIV. Unlike HIV, these conditions can be transmitted via oral sex.

If it's been a while since your last full STD screen, or if you've not had one before, you might consider making an appointment with your doctor or local sexual health service to have one arranged.
