Hearts Everywhere Reaching Out for Children, Inc.'s (HERO) mission is to improve the quality of life for children (ages 6 to 18 in the metro-Atlanta, Georgia area) infected with and affected by HIV/AIDS in Georgia through enriching programs, unforgettable experiences and connections with the community. The organization was founded in 2003 to address and unmet need-quality of life care for children affected by HIV/AIDS. HERO defines quality of life as the degree to which an individual enjoys physical, social and emotional well-being, and sees him or herself as being able to experience future success and fulfillment.HERO has had the opportunity to expose its children (who often cannot afford and/or have been geographically isolated from cultural opportunities) to recreational activities such as the opera, college campus tours, medical school tours, museums, football and basketball games, and more.

HERO currently impacts more than 350 children through 18,000 hours of care with more than a thousand volunteers annually.

HERO is positioned to address the unique needs of children whose futures are affected by this life-altering pandemic. It is providing them the chance to blossom into responsible adults who, in turn, will become positive contributors of tomorrow.
