Whooo hoo, CD4 reaches all time high
« on: April 28, 2008, 05:43:54 pm »
I got the results back from my latest tests today and CD4 is at an all time high of 590(!)  When I was diagnosed with AIDS and had a CD4 count of 48 I never dreamed of improving this much. (that was 9 yrs ago)

 ;D ;D ;D ;D

I just wanted to share so that other poz-people know that there is real hope of radically improving even from low CD4 counts.

Well. I mainly attribute it to good luck, higher powers or perhaps the phase of the moon in relation to my star sign.  :) I haven't been on any diets, I haven't changed my lifestyle or made any other changes I can think of.

The only thing I can say is that I've taken the meds every day, at the right time no matter what, and I've tried to maintain a positive attitude.

It has been difficult at times motivating myself to take the meds even though some of them have had side effects which have been tough to cope with sometimes. But, having had PCP I have been able to motivate myself every day to take them.

CONGRADULATIONS ...........

Recently after a three month drug holiday I went back down to 200...
after going back on my meds (2 1/2 months later) I'm back up to 510.
For the past three years I haven't made it above 525....but I'm happy
to be where I am.

Again CONGRADULATIONS!!!! :-* :-* :-*

Congrats on the high number.  My highest since going on meds in '94 was in the 700's last summer, after years of being in the mid-300s.  I was unemployed for 7 months last year.  My count is now down to 506, but I agree with you, it does whatever the hell it wants.  I try to pinpoint things that affect my counts, and I just can't.

Work is evil.   >:(

Congrats again, enjoy the number!

HIV+ since '93, 1/12 - CD4 785 and undet.   WOO-HOO!!

Update: Latest news in today.  820!  The switch last year from Combivir/Sustiva to Reyataz/Kivexa/Norvir seems to be a really good thing.
