Appreciate if any one could access my risk here
« on: January 27, 2009, 05:27:40 am »
Risk:
jan/2/2009
Mutual masturbation with a known HIV+ person, i'm male and a she. We did french kissing and sucking around the body, i know all this would consider no risk.

however my concern is, at one point i fingered her vagina and get all the vagina fluids on my hands(its quite alot), i didn't put attention on it and later on(30sec~) i rubbed my eye with the same fingers,
to be clear on the situation, my fingernail is quite long (2mm) as it is enough to kept some fluid in it

symptoms:
i wish i could put all this behind and move on, but just that in a great timing, a few days after i developed
muscle twitching around my body, dizziness, fatigue, occasionally pain around the joint, and this constantly nausea feeling. and my body temp read around 37.5c~ constantly. (having all these symptoms since day 5 until now 25 days)

i was tested at 22days after the date of that incident. rapid test with finger prick - negative!

my question
1.)would there by a slightest of chances of infection or not at all? through my eye rubbing with vaginal fluid on my fingers (please consider the fingernail part too).

2.)can my body temp consider a fever of ARS(low grade fever)? and the others symptoms i'm having. despite my risk for this question

i promise not to have any "what if" follow up question, i just need an expert's analysis on my situation.

any feedback or thought will be appreciated.
thanks
best wishes

At no time were you ever at risk of contracting HIV.

HIV is a fragile virus and it is not easily transmitted. It needs the receptive setting of a vagina or an anus to succeed in being transmitted. Vaginal secretions on your fingers and rubbing your eyes is not even remotely such a setting.

If you have persistent symptoms that's something to discuss with your doctor. They are not in anyway HIV specific. But that's no surprise since you didn't have any risk whatsoever. And you need to be wary of the HIV jitters mentality which gets anxious over everything that happens and misinterprets it as ANOTHER SIGN of HIV.

You have no cause to be concerned nor any need for testing. Just make certain when you have either vaginal or anal intercourse that you're using a latex condom. That way you will always be well protected as far as HIV sexual transmission is concerned.

Cheers.

Test if  you must for your peace of mind. Based on what you've reported a negative result is a slam dunk as far as I am concerned.

Cheers.
