If your HIV test was taken three months past your last instance of unprotected intercourse, then it is definitive.

It is NOT easy to get HIV, even from an infected person with a high viral load. It does, of course, happen, but it is not considered a "common" event. If indeed this man IS HIV positive (which remains to be seen, as he might be claiming this to force you to reconsider the relationship) then you have most assuredly been lucky. PLEASE use a condom for penetrative sex until you are in a securely monogamous relationship and have been tested together.

But from the looks of things, you are absolutely hIV negative.

Bot,

I deleted the thread you started about your situation in the Off Topic forum. Off Topic means nothing to do with hiv in any way, shape or form.

If you read the Welcome Thread before posting like you're supposed to, you will have read the following posting guideline:

Quote

With the exception of the “Am I Infected?” and “Off Topic” Forums, the AIDSmeds.com Forums are intended for people who have been diagnosed with HIV (or their loved ones/caregivers).  If you are questioning or unaware of your HIV status, please refrain from posting messages or questions in the Forums intended for HIV-positive people.

Please consider yourself warned!

This warning still applies to you because as I said, postings about hiv are NOT permitted in the Off Topic forum.

As you have already been told, you do not have hiv. Next time use a condom and you won't have these worries.

HIV is certainly character-building. It's made me see all of the shallow things we cling to, like ego and vanity. Of course, I'd rather have a few more T-cells and a little less character. Randy Shilts

bot,

Two and a half months? In your first post, you implied that you hadn't had unprotected sex with him since last December. That's more than two and a half months ago.

The window period for hiv testing is three months - but a negative any time at or after six weeks is highly unlikely to change.

If you cannot put this behind you, go test again. It will be another negative result - your previous negative result is not going to change.
