Hey Mike!

The member ranking system is somewhat controversial. Peter has promised us a poll in the near future on the matter and many of us are hopeful that (should members agree) it will be turned off.

Great to see ya here, by the way!!

Always great to see you too, Matty!

And count me among those who dislike the "ranking" system, at least in part because I don't
understand it.  ???

It's based on post count. Once you achieve x number of posts your rank increases. You start out as a "newbie" and then advance to "junior member", "full member" and so on.  It's used in many forums to confer a degree of seniority on members.

I really don't like it. I outline my reasons why in this thread http://forums.poz.com/index.php?topic=81.0. For the record the Dingo speaks strongly in support of it.

I know you've been busy of late, but it would be great to see you in the Am I Infected? forum which, as you will have deduced by now, replaces the old Fears Of Getting HIV forum. No one can show the way like an AIDSMEDS Bohdisattva! ;)

Fondly,

MtD

ah, that would be senior member.    I'm beginning to not like them either... makes me feel old.

So how many posts does one need to get past newbie???

Apparently newbies can't PM - at least I can't anyway. When I try to PM it says I'm not allowed. Someone sent me a PM and I can't respond to it.

I'm thinking you need 2 posts and this is my second post. I saw someone else with 2 posts who was a member and not a newbie.

Respond to this post and you'll be able to PM. ;)

The requirement is a postcount of 3 or greater.
