A question about lube and an encounter
« on: August 23, 2015, 08:26:23 pm »
Let me. Begin by saying thank you for the time you all take to reply to people on this thread.

I am an overly anxious person something I will admit freely.

The other day I had protected anal sex and unprotected oral sex with a person who I met near my work place. After this I went to the bathroom to check the condom. I put some water inside and I'm certain there were no holes but there wasn't much cum inside. Also the condom had slid down a little on him when he was climaxing however it was still on.

When I used the toilet I noticed blood and a white substance that looked a lot like cum. I've spoken to other friends and they assure me sometimes after sex lube can come out looking a bit like cum. I'm sure I've seen this before but never with blood so maybe I'm just allowing my anxiety to run away with me.

My question is it true after sex lube can come out looking like cum or could cum somehow get outside the condom and get into me? I was using ky jelly.

Also two weeks ago I was on holiday and went to a sauna. I gave a few guys oral sex with no ejaculate in my mouth. Two weeks later I developed a mild cold with no fever which has more or less cleared up two days later-- could these oral encounters be a risk for HIV infection and my cold a symptom of ARS

Protected intercourse is not a risk for infection and an intact condom means no risk.  Since the condom did not fail, it is safe to assume that any discharge was comprised of lube.  Also, oral sex is not a risk for infection.  HIV is a very fragile virus.  Its outer surface becomes damaged, immediately when leaving the host; where changes in temperature, pH and moisture levels, alter the HIV outer surface, rendering it unable to infect.  The mouth is another barrier, as it protects us from pathogens that we encounter daily and it contains over a dozen proteins and enzymes that alter HIV, leaving it unable to infect.

There have been no fewer than three separate serodiscordant couples studies (where one person is HIV positive, the other negative.)  These couples were tracked for three. five and ten years.  The couples used condoms for penetrative vaginal and anal sex, but NO BARRIER at all for oral sex.  Any kind of oral sex.

These studies yielded NO infections.

You have not had any risk and you do not need to test over these incidents.

You are over thinking this whole issue.  Yes, lube can appear like cum at times.

I'm sure threads like mine can be quite tedious but thank you so much for taking the time  :)

It's not tedious, it's more disappointing.  I want you to be secure in your knowledge regarding keeping yourself safe, so you don't have to second guess yourself every time you have sexual relations.  There is no reason you cannot have a fulfilling sex life and still keep yourself safe.

Joe
