Hiv in fluids
« Reply #50 on: October 25, 2011, 09:33:46 am »
Hi, im still a bit confused about HIV(bodily fluids) and beverages. I went onto the cdc website and couldnt find any relevent info. Can HIV infected bodily fluids survive in a hot beverage? Would boiling water (poured over a teabag or chocolate powder)be enough to render the virus inactive. Or does the virus become inactive because when u drink it, stomach acid kills the virus.

Cheers

Once again, I've merged your new thread into your original thread - where you should post all your additional thoughts or questions. Get with the program already!

It helps us to help you when you keep everything in one thread. It doesn't matter how long it has been since you last posted in your thread or if the subject matter is different.

If you need help finding your thread when you come here, click on the "Show own posts" link under your name in the left-hand column of any forum page.

Please also read through the Welcome Thread so you can familiarize yourself with our Forum Posting Guidelines. Thank you for your cooperation.

We have told you REPEATEDLY that hiv cannot be transmitted from food or beverages as hiv cannot remain viable and able to infect once its outside the body. Re-read your entire thread.

hi, sorry about the double post, i couldnt find the thread to tag it on. Im sorry to keep posting but i have ocd and it flares up, for instance today i picked a spot on my nose and then touched a kettle which someon else immediately touched so they may have touched my blood. I know that environmental surfaces cant transmit hiv, but because of the fact that another person literally took the kettle out of my hand i have got worried again. I know touching blood isnt a risk but i have to be sure. thats why ive posted. I think my issue is with the possible risk and as i have read through other posts it is impossible to  be 100% sure, everything in life has a risk. i dont want to be banned though but i spose its up to you guys.

jpg,

I suggest that the next time your OCD causes you to have these outlandish hiv transmission fantasies, instead of running here to these forums, run instead to a psychiatrist or therapist to get the help you need.

Don't come back here with more food or drink-based woes. Enough already.

Hi, ve got a separate issue that i would like a response too. The issue is about hygiene in the house. Would it be enough to just wash dishes in soapy water or would i have to use a dishwasher. The reason i ask is that i cut myself and bled onto a few dishes and on the dishwashing tablets i use in the dishwasher. Im assuming that i can put the tablet with blood on into the dishwasher with the bloody plates and this would be sufficient to kill germs and viruses such as HIV/hep b.
cheers

It would be inactive before you could get it to the dishwash.

You need to keep things simple. You have been coming here long enough to know what's risky as Rod has sucsinctly told you above. Stop making this HIV issue more complicated than it is. Get on with your life.

yeah i understand, i spose im always looking for the possible grey areas. For instance i used a family toilet and and i wasnt watching what i was doing and spreayed pee onto some cosmetics that were on the floor by the toilet. I understand that pee isnt infectious but then i try the whatifs such as the pee was cloudy and could have contained semen or traces of blood and that could have gotten onto the cosmetics. But then i tell myself that hiv cant be contracted from environmental surfaces(like ive been taught on here). In all honesty my ocd is a constant battle between whatifs and rational responses to the situation which you and others have presented to me on this forum. Thanks for the advice as i would probably be climbing up the walls otherwise.

That pee scenario is totally ridiculous as I think you know. Frankly we are not going to indulge you in conversations about such "what if" scenarios. If you return with more of that you are definitely going to find yourself getting a Time Out from the site.

Keep it simple, keep it simple. Risk sexually is about unprotected vaginal and anal intercourse.

yeah i was trying to say(in a clumsy way) that the pee situation was ridiculous. OCD makes situations such as that become overblown in my mind, thats how it works. I was trying to compliment the people in this forum for giving rational answers.

jpg,

You need to seek the help of a mental health professional. We cannot help you with your OCD in this setting.

You are very close to being permanently banned.

This is your LAST warning!!!
