HIPPA violation brushed off with apology
« on: March 19, 2016, 11:29:20 am »
Hello everyone
I wanted to share my very long disheartening story with you. For consideration I will  shorten it greatly. Because I've been battling mental illness since 2003 taking so much medication over years makes some people stomach sensitive, I fall in that category now add HIV meds to that last year and I was still am having a very hard time with my stomach. I woke up in pain had my neighbor and close associate take me to the E.R not only could she hear them in the hall way disclosing my status but when she entered my room to let me know she could here them the Head RN walked right in a few moments behind her and fully disclosed my status with her standing there.. Even crying in pain I looked at her and said she was not allowed to do that. I asked her didn't she see someone in the room with with me. She then says oh I thought that was your sister. I said even if it was my mother father sister brother or child she can not disclose that information without my conceit. I filed a complaint at HHS.GOV  with no reply my 6 months is up next month no lawyer would help so ....I now know it's perfectly ok to take the life quite peaceful life that is so hard to maintain being mental health and tear it apart and say your sorry

Welcome to the forum.

I have locked this thread as you have two near identical ones open.
So I will leave the one under "Living with HIV" open.
