Mini woke up w/ a fever
« on: November 28, 2007, 03:31:23 pm »
Mini woke up from her nap w/ a 101.4 fever.  :( I called her PID and left a message.  We still don't have her numbers from 3 wks ago.  I gave her tylenol to break up the fever and I'll check it again in half an hour.  She's still acting "ok" and isn't dragging. This is the first fever she's had in over a year and mum tends to panic. Will let everyone know what happens.

Sorry for the late post.  Got busy with supper and other mum "stuff".  After 2 doses of Tylenol, her fever is down to 100.  Put in another call to her PID and got the hospital nurse line.  I'll swipe her temp again before I hit the sack and see how she sleeps through the night.  She ate decent -not her usual "piggy" self, but not what I'd consider a terrible decrease of appetite.  She was sluggish and knocked out at 6:30.  Everytime she gets a fever, or a runny nose, or just a down day, I have flashbacks of those horrible months in the hospital.  I'd feel better if I knew that her numbers were still good. I'll call her PID tomorrow and leave more messages. (sigh).  I hate cootie season! >:(

Thanks for all your concern and thoughts.  Gave her a moochie from ya, Mattie.  She just laughed. ;D  I'll let ya know how our night went.

Moochies to all,
Mum

Well, it was a sleepless night for mum last night.  Fever went back up to 101 about 11pm so I had to wake her up for another dose of tylenol.  Sometime around 3am she developed a really nasty cough.  After that, I just stayed up and kept checking her.  Her fever broke, finally, but she still has her cough.  I can't feel anything in her chest - seems to be staying in her head so I'm not worried (yet) about pneumonia.  Put in yet another call to her PID.  Hopefully she'll call today and give us mini's latest numbers. Oh, the joys of living in the fridged mountains during winter cootie season!

Thank you all for just being you.

I learned something recently, whenever you call always tell them, especially with a fever, that you think she has an infection.  I hear that is the key word.. Please keep us posted.  D
Nothing in the world can take the place of Persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent. The slogan 'Press On' has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race.
