not mental . . . . anymore
« on: October 28, 2011, 05:08:24 pm »
so. . . . *sigh*
been working at my new job for about two weeks now ( work at chipotle )
and so far it's. . . . eh so-so.
not in love with it, but don't hate it to the point of wanting to quit outright .

I worked in a rehab center before with the business office. and worked with
mostly older coworkers. married, people with kids. and enjoyed it a great deal.
loved waking up for work. now i work with peers my age group . . . and eh.
it's beginning to feel like high school all over again.

not to mention the GM is sooooo inappropriate and immature.
very foul mouthed, has come to work hungover and stinking of alcohol twice.
and one day smelling of weed. not a good role model that's for sure

but anyways. . . I was checking next weeks schedule. and since im still getting the hand
of things they put down that i can be called to fill in for anyone if they need help
with a little sticky not on the bottom that read
" call Dany ( he never calls me daniel, which i told him i prefer. or at least spells it correctly, danny )
if you need any help.
NOT MENTAL . . . . anymore"

the 'mental' part was underlined three times. and the ' anymore' added later on in a different marker color and by a different person.

:-[ maybe it's weird fast food lingo. but " not mental"?
totally threw me into a weird. WTH storm in my head

on good news it snowed that night :)
I was freaking out all happy skipping to my car.

I guess I don't understand what "not mental" means.  Let us know if you find out.  Doesn't seem too cool though, unless it means something else at Chipotle.  Also, at work yesterday my boss bought Chipotle for lunch, and they got every order wrong (nothing against you of course).

Might I suggest you take said "sticky note" have it framed and then the next time someone asks "are you mad?" you can reply "NO and I can prove it" and then show them the note.

I would make a copy of it in the office if I was you.  Do you know if the manager made the "not mental" comment on the paper?   Also, some of the chain/franchise places have a 1-800 number you can call. If yours does I would be informing them of the manager smelling like weed and alcohol.  When I was a youngin someone reported our manager for sleeping in the bathroom stalls.

Don't put up with this shit, it will keep on if you do.  I'd raise such a stink the whole place would be shitcanned and I'd be training new staff...lol

it isn't him being offensive to you Klouny I think he's trying to be funny. the "not mental" part refers to the "if you need any help" part. Like, call you if they need help, but not if they just are in need of mental help! I guess the anymore was written by one of your colleagues being stupid.

well that's how I read it anyway,.
coming into work drunk or stoned is really not safe or professional though.

That's a good possibility, never thought of it that way.

But still Manager needs to be reported for reaking of alcohol. Yuk. I mean come one, If you are going to be a working alcoholic at least drink Vodka so the smell is not as bad.

well here's the thing, I feel like SUCH a stick in the mud there.
everyone is so high-strong, loud, and funny ( to the people there i suppose)
but everyone is so immature. including the manager.
working there I feel like the movie " waiting " with ryan reynolds.
it's so weird. I was thinking of reporting the GM, but i don't want to get shit for it.
since it seems im the only one who's even commented on it.
and to be honest, he does annoy me. how he's unprofessional and abnoxious. so maybe that's why i even noticed
but yeah. . . i enjoy working when he's not there for sure

~BT65~
i've notice we get some online orders wrong sometimes. specially if it's a big order and they leave a newbie to do it on their own. and then we also get actual customers on the line. so it gets confusing.

You said you had a job before that you liked so there will one out there for you, keep looking and dreaming about what you want to do.
