Visiting Montreal
« on: April 23, 2012, 03:22:58 pm »
I will be on vacation next Monday, the 30th of April through Saturday, the 5th of May.  It will be a return to the area where I attended my first AMG.  I will be sure to visit Chez Cora for breakfast (ah, the memories!) as well as some of our other favorite spots.  If I can figure out how to do it, I will even post some pics.  I know our Memorial Service plaque is still on the wall of the church where we left it.  I will see if I can get a new pic of that too.

Looking forward to our trip to DC!

O.K. mister I may not speak to you the entire time we are in DC.  Chez Cora is still locked into my memory as some (if not all) the best breakfasts I've ever had.  To say I'm jealous would be an understatement!  Poophead! >:(

RAB   ;)

(Let me add, it would be nice to see a pic of the plaque.  But I still might not speak to you!)

There is a place a few blocks closer in the Village that opened a few years ago called Steak and Frites.  Superb!  The frites are the classic "double flash fried" potatoes you get in Europe (most especially Belgium) and should not be compared to so-called French fries.  These are the real deal!  They also do a fabulous tableside Caesar salad (extra anchovies and garlic on request.)

I do love visiting the Village!  I will be staying at a small five room B&B in the heart of the Village.  Five nights for $100 a night...great deal.  Would be more fun if the gang was with me though....

Enjoy your trip to Montreal Gary, I know you really love the city.  Yes, Chez Cora is so nice and great food and one day I will have to meet you up there my friend.

Shades of Seattle...just up from Chez Cora is a new leather shop sporting some of those fashionable kilts we saw Aztecan modeling last summer at AMG.  Ah...memories!

Gary,

Sorry I missed this post, because we live right across from Chez Cora.  The hunky manager, Stephen, makes us brunch every Sunday.  If you remember, send me a PM the next time you are coming here.  Depending upon your tastes, there are some very interesting places in Montreal.

I will do that next time...I don't know why that did not cross my mind because I know you both are in Montreal.  I stayed this time at BBV on Montcalm (my second time there) a wonderful small five room place around the corner from St. Catherine.  I always manage to have a great time in the Village and love eating at my favorite haunts (Piazetta, Bato Thai, Steak et Frites, Chez Cora.)

Next time I will send a PM ahead of time.

That new leather shop on the corner of Montcalm and St. Catherine instantly made me think of Mark (Aztecan.)  Right down his alley!  I snapped a photo but still can't figure out how to post it in here.
