Where the Cure??

Ask the question, send a message.
"Where’s the Cure?" is the question. The message is: We need your help. You can help send that message around the world – and directly to the President of the United States – by submitting your own photo.

I'd love to ask that question.... Just after I ask these:

1) Where is the treatment?  How dare you let your fellow citizens die a slow, unpleasant death that can be treated today, with medicines we have!

2) Where is the real prevention?  This absitnence crap isn't going to cut it.  People have been having sex as long as their have been people and I don't anticipate that changing any time in the forseeable or imaginable future.  We must take active steps to prevent infections.  Criminilization is not an active step.

3) Where is healthcare reform in America?  It's immoral to have an industry that thrives on exploiting the poor.  Healthcare is what we want.  Health insurance is what we do to get it.  No person should be forced to choose between food and medicine.  Yet, I know several who do on a regular basis.  Eat or live?  What do they do?  That is not affordable healthcare.

While I think a cure is a good, lofty goal to have, and ultimately the place we want to be.  We cannot throw the baby out with the bathwater and neglect the needs of today and the demands of a stable tomorrow to get to our dream.
Don't obsess over the wrong things.  Life isn't about your numbers, it isn't about this forum, it isn't about someone's opinion.  It's about getting out there and enjoying it.   I am a person with HIV - not the other way around.
