Title: Be An Activist - Body Shop/UNAIDS HIV campaign - my poster!
Post by: gemini20 on November 22, 2010, 11:33:53 am
Some of you may remember I was photographed earlier this year by Rankin for a World AIDS Day 2010 campaign being run by Body Shop/UNAIDS.

Today I got sent a copy of my poster and wanted to share it with everyone here along with the main campaign poster which will feature in Body Shop stores.

I can't work out how to get the images into my post so I'll just include the links if you want to check them out.

The official launch will be at City Hall with the Mayor of London, Boris Johnson next Monday and there will be a photo exhibition there of all the campaign pictures until 10th December 2010.

Here's the links

Thanks Ann!

I must say I'm quite chuffed at the final product - though I had no idea that I would come out looking quite that fierce and determined (perhaps that's the long term survivor in me).

Cheers,

Emma

Is chuffed a good thing?

I think you look beautiful!

Hi Snow

yes 'chuffed' is a good thing; over in England it means 'pleased or satisfied'

Thanks for your comment; I'd never have thought of myself as beautiful!!

Emma

Is this why you've been working on the rack for the last few months?  Result.

Great pic, sweetie.

The Body Shop/UNAIDS campaign was launched this morning at City Hall in London with the Mayor, Boris Johnson.

There is more information about the campaign and information on all those featured in the poster at the Body Shop website (link below)

http://www.thebodyshop.com/_en/_ww/values-campaigns/be-an-activist.aspx

On the 'Behind the Scenes' tab there is a short video shot by Rankin's team on the day of the photo shoot and I feature towards the end.

I hope others will wear the Red Ribbon on World AIDS Day and do their bit to raise awareness of HIV/AIDS amongst their community.

Thanks,

Emma

Em! That was awesome! I actually heard you instead of just reading your type-written words on the screen or hand-written lines in one of the cards that you have sent me over the years. I played that bit over and over three times just to catch you as the star that you are. :-*

I hope others will wear the Red Ribbon on World AIDS Day and do their bit to raise awareness of HIV/AIDS amongst their community.
I've been wearing my red ribbon out and about a lot the last little bit and will for sure have it on Wed. I've spent the last couple of months helping my ASO put together a PSA video competition for this years WAD event that we annually hold over at Winthrop University. Last year I was new in town and just went to to watch the show and think about Jim and Randy. So after all the prevention/education outreach work I've been doing this year, now I've been doing advertising, speaking at high school and college campuses about the compeition (videos about HIV awareness), putting together some videos of my own, directing a couple videos using the agency staff and am busy (right now, tonite) getting the music, vids and props together for Wed nite's show. (what a hoot! 25 yrs afterwards getting to put my speech minor and stagecrew experience to use again)

If you get a chance check out the vids on the clinic's youtube channel (http://youtube.com/catawbacare - my vids are under the "misc PSA" playlist (http://www.youtube.com/catawbacare#p/c/B9B75A495A1372ED) since I wasn't eligible to be a contestant).

Cheers again to you Emma for the work you're doing!

much luv from me and the boyz! :-* Woof!
we want an autographed poster too  ;) ;D
