Anxiety is killing me
« on: November 02, 2013, 09:38:47 am »
I feel like i have read every related post but I still am really concerned about my situation.

I recently went to a THAI massage parlour and received a totally nude (both of us) soap massage. Consisting of bath where she washed my body and penis, which then progressed to a soaped up bodyslide where she vigorously rubbed her vagina/breasts all over my buttocks/back and front as i lay on a soap mattress. There was some penis/vagina contact definitely scrotum, however it was hard to tell because of all the soapy water. Also my exposed penis was flush against the blow up mattress (potentially used before me). I am uncircumcized.

Then finished with an unprotected handjob on a clean bed using baby oil. I showered off and then stupidly put hand sanitizer on my scrotum and head of penis (which hurt!)

A few factors concern me:

1. I have several small open wounds on my hands and legs (which would have come in contact with her vaginal fluids)
2. Pimples on my buttocks (increased HIV/HSV2 risk?)
3. Her vagina rested on my scrotum and thighs for at least 30 secs, potentially also my glans.
4. I did not see her genitals at all to see if she had sores or if she had HSV2 symptoms present (blisters) but I fear she may have
5. Ive gotten all worked up about all the literature suggesting the type E HIV strain in thailand is very effective at entering uncircumsized males through the langherins cells?
6. I had some cuts on my feet including an open sore from athletes foot
7. I have been experiencing severe nightsweats and lots of other symptoms (im hoping anxiety related)
8. It sounded like she had been working for about 8 hours before i got there.

My PEP window is up now and im really concerned i may have contracted HIV and or HSV2

Any help at relieving my anxiety would be amazing.

Joe

You can relax , you did not have a risk for HIV . The risk factors for HIV are ...

Sharing IV drug needles immediately after use.
Unprotected anal and vaginal sex.
Mother to child during or shortly after birth
Very specific healthcare situations.

Rubbing or frottage isn't a risk . Once exposed to oxygen HIV is instantly rendered unable to infect .

ALTHOUGH YOU DO NOT NEED HIV TESTING AT THIS TIME for this incident , anyone who is sexually active should be having a full sexual health care check-up, including but not limited to hiv testing, at least once a year and more often if unprotected intercourse occurs.

If you aren't already having regular, routine check-ups, now is the time to start. As long as you make sure condoms are being used for intercourse, you can fully expect your routine hiv tests to return with negative results.

Don't forget to always get checked for all the other sexually transmitted infections as well, because they are MUCH easier to transmit than hiv. Some of the other STIs can be present with no obvious symptoms, so the only way to know for sure is to test.

Use condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, correctly and consistently, and you will avoid hiv infection. It really is that simple!

Thanks Jeff

Im so incredibly amazed at your generosity as well as your other moderators in helping us worried wells along with the rest of the forum. Ive read so many posts on poz and your guys patience and care for people has really inspired me to look at myself. Its actually amazing the things you can learn about humanity reading through the posts, the tolerance, love, understanding, empathy all shown towards complete strangers is one of the most beautiful things ive seen - ive cried multiple times just imagining some of these people's fear/loneliness and then the comfort you all extend them...

Anyway, that aside, as you can tell Im a massive anxious attack kind of guy and I cant stop reading all the literature i can - . I promise i wont bother you much longer.

One thing that I can't get straight from reading basically every post on frottage (on every forum!) are these two facts that get bandied around. I get nearly every informed person says frottage is no risk but

1. Langerhans cells (esp. in an uncircumcized penis) readily take up HIV particles, even more so in the case of the type E strain in thailand
2. Menstrual blood and vaginal secretions could be directly rubbed onto the penis and some of the potential particles would be protected enough to land intact on said penis.

Im guessing the point is #2 is not possible? ie outside of vagina for a split second is enough to deactivate the viral particles?

Please humour me here, if a freak occurrence (perfect storm) happened where the CSW had a high viral load and there was enough body fluid present to keep some particles intact onto my penis would it be OK to assume that the soapy water would put all worry to rest?

Sorry I know you have better things to attend to but I cant sleep even after being assured by you and others its close to zero risk.

Not a problem ...

The female secretion where hiv has been shown to be present is the cervicovaginal fluid. This fluid is actually a thick mucus that covers and protects the cervix. The fluid a woman produces when sexually excited comes from the Bartholin's glands, located on either side of the vaginal opening. I have yet to discover one shred of evidence (and believe me, I've looked) that shows this lubricating fluid to have any more hiv present than other bodily secretions such as saliva, sweat or tears. Saliva, sweat and tears are NOT infectious fluids.

Some reasons why frottage isn't a risk is because the fluids on the outside of the vagina are not infectious for HIV and then you have the fragile nature of HIV that is instantly damaged when exposed to oxygen ... it all adds up to no risk .

No one has ever been infected in the manner you are concerned with so rest assured that if you had a risk we would not hesitate to tell you so you could seek testing and treatment to protect you and possibly preventing further HIV infections for occurring .
