¿Es un riesgo?
« on: July 18, 2006, 05:30:49 pm »
I am a 32 year old brazilian.
This is my situation. I encountered with a girl for my first time. I had protected vaginal sex with the girl, but the condom slipped off inside. Did it slip all the way off.
I perceived in the hour (i believe) and I placed a new condom.
I have an hiv test in June and came back negative.
Which my risks?   I need to test?

Thank you very much,

Fabio.

Hi Fabio.

You didn't mention when this encounter happened when the condom slipped off. Was this after you had your HIV test in June?

I'm going to assume that it happened after your HIV test. If I am correct about that, then this is how I see the situation. The condom will have protected you until it slipped off. If it came off completely during intercourse before you replaced it then getting tested is a prudent thing to do. That should be done at 13 weeks past the most recent incident.

Now, let me also say that HIV is not an easy virus to transmit. It is significantly more difficult to transmit from female to male. Given this was a single incident in which you would have been covered for a part of the time, even IF the woman you were with is HIV+, the odds are overwhelmingly in your favor against transmission having occured. Given what you have described I certainly would  expect you to test negative.

If you have tested since the incident (13 weeks after) then you are reliably HIV negative and there is nothing further to be concerned about.

It's very good to read that you are being careful and using condoms. That's the perfect way to protect your health. Make sure the ones you are using fit you properly.

If I am missing something here just let me know.

Cheers,

Thanks for the reply.

This happened after my HIV test.
I perceived immediately. They had been few seconds without protection.
It can be that it did not have contact .  But it does not give to be certain.
Thank you all

Dear Friends,

I was having sexual intercourse with a girl (scort girl) I met a couple of nights ago. I do not know anything about her.
I was using a condom during intercourse when it broke.
I perceived quickly (less than 1 minute).

Which my risks? It is necessary to test?

Congratulations For the WebSite

Fabio.

fabio, eventhough you withdrew quickly, it would probably be best that you test. Broken condoms do happen. It's not that I think you will test positive, I don't, but it's always good to know your status. You might want to have an STD panel done also. Wait your 12/13 weeks post possible exposure to be tested and continue to use condoms. Use plenty of waterbased lube too. Keep us posted.

I agree with Rodney. Although you do need to test, the odds are significantly in your favour of testing negative.

Thanksr RapiRod and Ann,
Ann forgives me, but I wrote different lines therefore had been distinct situations. In one the condom slipped off inside. In the other the condom broke.
Please, it forgives me and thanks for the answers.

Dear Friends;

I tested negative.
It´s not the definitive, therefore I had 2 situations of risk.
The test was carried through 100 days after the first situation (preservative it left) and 53 days after the second situation (preservative it breached).
I can consider as high the possibilities to keep negative my next test?
Thanks

Fabio,

Your seven and a half week test is not likely to change. I fully expect you to test negative again when you test at three months.

Good night!
Last thursday I had relations with one t-girl.
It oral sex in me without condom.
I gived  masturbation and I penetrated it with condom.
It cum in my belly. I looked at two times to see if the condom had broken and it did not break.
When we finish he looked at for the condom and he said “Is ok” “It did not break”
He gived oral sex in me without condom until I to cum.
Today, five days later I woke up with dysentery and vomiting. I was in the doctor, who said that it is an alimentary infection. Now the night I am with 37.5 of fever.
They can be symptoms? Although I to think that I did not run risk but and if the condom it broke in the end of the relation and t-girl lay for me? It is thing of my head?
I need to test?
Thanks

Getting a blowjob is not a risk for hiv infection and condoms have been proven to prevent hiv transmission, so no, you don't need to test over this specific incident.

When condoms break, it's very obvious. You would have known about it if yours broke.

You need to be using condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, every time, no exceptions until such time as you are in a securely monogamous relationship where you have both tested for ALL sexually transmitted infections together. To agree to have unprotected intercourse is to consent to the possibility of being infected with an STI. Sex with a condom lasts only a matter of minutes, but hiv is forever.

Have a look through all three condom and lube links in my signature line so you can use condoms with confidence.

Although you do NOT need to test over this incident, anyone who is sexually active should be having a full sexual health care check-up, including but not limited to hiv testing, at least once a year and more often if unprotected intercourse occurs.

If you aren't already having regular, routine check-ups, now is the time to start. As long as you make sure condoms are being used for intercourse, you can fully expect your routine hiv tests to return with negative results. Don't forget to always get checked for all the other sexually transmitted infections as well, because they are MUCH easier to transmit than hiv.

Thank you very much for such a quick response Ann!
I really think that it is insane to be thinking that the condom broke. I would have perceived at the moment.
I do not test myself of this October of the last year. It would be a good moment? Ahead of this accident it is not necessary to wait 90 days is not?
Thanks

fab,

As a sexually active adult, you should be having a full sexual health care check up at least once a year. You can start this habit when you like.

Good night friends.
I have a good news and another question ... lets go.
The good news is that at the end of October I tested negative (check-up, anual test).
But,after the test I had sex with a shemale again.
He gave oral sex on me (not risk correct?).
But he penetrated the finger in my anus (that is risk?).
And I masturbei (without ejaculation him), then I put my hand on my eye because it had something (perhaps a small insect) (that is risk?).
I am worried because today (20 days later) I had fever(100,4ºF) and sore throat.
I need to test again?

Thanks e Congralutions!!!

You were never at risk. Your fever has nothing to do with HIV.

Thanks for the answers.
Only the last report (eye). It is possible the contamination occurs through the eyes? In what way could this happen?
Thanks.

In an emergency department at the hospital or the Operating Room. The chances of anyone contracting HIV in that way is remote even in a healthcare setting.

Were you squirting HIV+ sperm into your eye? No? I didn't think so.

Your latest laundry list of possible risks were not risky. You need to let go and get on with your life.

The sperm not squirting into my eyes.
I only give a hand job (without ejaculation, only pre-cum) and then took my finger in the eyes (my eye was pain)
Thanks

Good evening ...
I know that as you spoke had no risk in my episodes (no risk).
But today, 28 days after the second episode, I appeared a fever low (100.04 ° F), headache, without apparent cause. My girlfriend also had sore throat and fever last week (and the panic is to be a ARS also)
The first thing that I think we are symptoms of ARS
Help! It seems that I am crazy with it!
Thanks.

You didn't have a risk and your fever is not an ARS fever it's to low. How about see if you are getting a cold. It has nothing to do about HIV.

Hola.
Gracias.

Hiya,

What you posted isn't an HIV risk to you.

Please note that I merged your posts into this thread, next time please post only in this thread.

Here's what you need to know to avoid HIV infection:
Use condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, correctly and consistently, every time, no exceptions. Consider talking to your healthcare provider about taking PrEP as an additional layer of HIV protection

Keep in mind that some sexual practices described as ‘safe’ in terms of HIV might still pose a risk for transmission of other STI's, so please do get tested regularly and at least yearly for STI's including but not limited to HIV and test more frequently if unprotected intercourse occurs

Also, note that it is possible to have an STI and show no signs or symptoms and, the only way of knowing is by testing.

Kind regards

Jim
