Damn Mosquitoes!
« on: August 16, 2007, 07:39:53 pm »
I was outside yesterday and was watering my flowers and got bit by a damn mosquito.

Of all places I have been bitten this year on my legs and my hand right now my right hand is swelled. Over the weekend I got bit on both legs. Talk about leaving a wealk the size of a quarter and taking for ever to heal.

Has anyone else had to deal with these damn bugs this year. >:(

Mosquitoes, like Mormons, tend to give Matty the Damned a wide berth. He rarely gets bitten. In fact the last mozzie that bit MtD had to check into detox.

I have never seen how such a little pest can leave such a huge bite mark. My hand has swelled to three times the original size. It bit me right on the blood vessel also and my the swelling is going down my arm. >:(

Jezza,

That is a very severe reaction to a mozzie bite. I understand that for some reason, mozzie bites seem to affect some HIVers worse than negative people. Do you have any anti-histamine tablets?

Apply mosquito repellant.......skintastic works well for me. Do it! A quick shower to get the stuff off but you need to protect yourself, Jerry.
That seems to be a severe reaction to me. Are you OK now?

hello, Sorry your hand is swollen and painful. The fact that the redness is spreading down your arm is scary.  Normally, i rub alcohol on my bites and it eases the itching. Maybe that will help.   I hate bugsray but do use it because we live near a pond and have a lot of woods so they are everywhere.  hope it gets better.    Cristy

Can not wait till winter comes and these damn Mosquitoes leave.

I wish they would come up with anti viral for this pest.

It is a shame you can not enjoy the nice weather of summer without these pests.

Holy smokes...they are pervasive here in Tucson now.  I reckon the monsoon rains brought them out in batches.  I use that pink Caladryl lotion to try to mitigate the itching.

Jerry, I have been bitten once this year and I say the same thing each time. "Mosquitoe, you've bit the wrong person, you have 72 hours to get on PEP."  ;) That is of course if I didn't squish the little bastard.
