Quick question slightly afraid
« on: March 21, 2015, 06:06:46 pm »
Dear all,

Let me just introduce myself I am a 25 year old student from London (uk) last month 20th February I went to see a prostitute/escort or whatever they are called now sadly this was my first encounter with a women and I broke my virginity with 100 pound encounter pathetic I know. Moving on I suffer from a rare genetic disorder which makes me prone to infections due to fragile skin basically my skin is very soft. Now to what I did with her I am not concerned with the oral it was protected. The vaginal intercourse was also protected the same condom was used she applied it by her hands and added some lubricant I went to do the obvious with her for a good 3 or 4 minutes it was quick the condom upon inspection was very loosely on my penis but was not falling off it was also not leaking It seemed pretty safe she obviously claimed she was clean etc. BUT 1 month on I have been struck down with joint pains breathlessness and a fever I went to hospital but they did not know I had seen a prostitute Dr thinks its a flu obviously as other fools on this site who sign up to ask these questions I would like to know if symptoms such as mild fever, productive cough, joint aches and pains and chest pain is a tell tale sign serum conversion due to my immune system fighting of the HIV virus and would it be wise to go and get a blood test in 2 months time as its already been a month and my symptoms a day or so ago.

I am sorry for these trivial questions as I know the burden of suffering chronic illnesses means one is more concerned with pressing topics please take some time and leave a short reply.

Nothing you mention is a risk for HIV infection.  Oral sex, condom or not, is not a risk for infection and the intercourse was protected, so no risk there either.  You have not had a risk and you do not need to test over this incident.

Whatever symptoms you are experiencing have nothing to do with HIV.

Billy, Joe has already given you the real deal about you not having had a risk and that you do not need to test for HIV. Discuss your symptoms with your doctor. They have nothing to do with HIV.

I just wanted to add that you ought to be more forgiving with yourself about this incident. You're just a young guy with a healthy libido (good) and exploring your sexuality. So give yourself a break. You haven't done anything "wrong." Take your time with exploring things and always use condoms for intercourse so that you will be well protected.

Now get on with enjoying your life.

Cheers.
