Hey guys. Sorry if this was posted earlier. I'm not logged on here as much these days due to school. It's an FYI about a specific cell phone danger which I never knew about. Thanks to JeffreyJ for sharing this with me

I call Bullshit.

I just looked at my cellphone charger 5.9V dc at 375 mA.  Thats less than a 9v battery.  The charger contains a step down transformer and an AC/DC converter. probably a bridge rectifier.  There is no way that the 120VAC on the primary side is going to go across a transformer, through a AC/DC converter and voltage regulator, up the skinny little wire, through the charging circuitry and shock you through a non-conductive plastic cellphone case.

If you explained that the battery got hot and exploded, maybe I'd buy that.

Grinch - It's a copy n paste. There's no need to get huffy

I for one will not answer my cell phone while it's plugged in. I know that power surges can and do occur. Better safe than sorry

Not at all huffy. Just calling bullshit where I smell it.
As an update I went to the snopes.com site.  Here's a cut and paste.

#  Using cell phones while they are being recharged poses a general and serious danger of electrocution:   False

Even the website mentioned called it false.
A power surge that could jump through the charger to the phone and electrocute you through the plastic case would be so powerful that the phone would be the least of your worries.

I've been reliably been informed that the radiation in the phone stimulates the growth of hair in the ear.
