Who I Appreciate On Here And Why
« on: December 05, 2006, 02:14:32 am »
Ok.  Call it mushy, touchy-feely, whatever you want.  It won't bother me a whit if you think so.  I've just had some nice little exchanges with a number of folks on here, and I'd like to start this post as a place for me to tell 'em I'm grateful for having crossed paths with them...even if only 'virtually'.

A blessing of places like this on the internet is that we are able to mentally transcend barriers of distance and geography, and even more intangible barriers like finance and sociological boundaries.  One might even say it is a blessing that we have these obstacles in place when personalities clash and tempers flare.  Of course, for every Yin there is a Yang.  Every light produces a shadow.  One of the curses of this virtual plane is that sometimes we get lulled into a forgetfulness of the existence of these real world barriers...until we get reminded of them all too vividly.  Online friends become desperately ill or hospitalized in another city, experience loss in another state or become alarmingly depressed in another country.  What then?  What do we do?

We make the most of what we have.  And what we have here is a piece of spiritual real estate, and I'd say it has some damn fine curb appeal.  On this little stamp of virtual earth, spirits can connect even if bodies aren't physically able to.  So I'm gonna mine everything the soil has to offer here...and name some of the diamonds I've found.  I invite everyone to join in.  But if you wish to do any trashing, start another thread for your landfill.  I earnestly request that no one tarnish the sentiment of good will on my thread.  Please.  I've had enough for awhile of hearing who hates who and why.  This one is for appreciation.  It doesn't have to be mushy.  It can be funny, tender, admiring...whatever.  And you can repost about the same person.  Just keep it in the vein of appreciation.  I'm going to have many.  The first is below.

Wow, honestly I don't know who initiated first contact with me but I have grown to love this place. So, I will say mad love to Peter, creator of the site, if I knew where you lived, I would give you a great big kiss! This site has caused me to open up tremendously.

Lwood, who I think is fucking funny as hell. When I am pissed about something, I can read one of his posts and everything is right as rain.

Anniebc, I think is the sweetest person. I love to see her paintings. I also love to hear about the animals. To use someone else's phrase, she is the bees knees..

Matty The Damned, just because I love his damned ways. I miss the hell out of you, please come back.

John Oso, I love reading his posts. I thought I was the only one who watched Showgirls..lol..

The 2 Jerrys, Isn't it great that people can find true love, even on the Internet. That goes for Hermie and Dan too.

Melia, Who has a way with words. Are you over the throat thing yet? I hope so.

Mouse, Whose sweet innocense(sp?) I love and his age tends to bring the mother hen out in me.

Strayboy, I love you like a brother from another mother.

JeffreyJ, You are the sweetest.

Eldon, I'm feeling the positive vibes, you are a reminder of the good things that life has to offer if we only look and see them.

Thunter, My first gay love, is there such a thing? If there isn't, it is now. Let's make passionate love, you can still be gay and I won't tell a soul.... ;)

Damn for the moment that is all my brain is allowing me to remember. Blames it on the weed but as I see more names, I will add later....

Hey Thunter34...

With confirmation follows a blessing. This is your confirmation. It is empowering and it is fulfilling just as well. I will follow-up with more later.

Leave it to the Queen to kick this thing off right.  And leave it to Eldon to be among the first.

Never fear...my post for you is coming.

(But then, I'll bet you already knew that.)

And a PS to Angel and Eldon:  FA, you are quite welcome.  E, only minutes later...and the blessing is already coming.

I just looked at the main forums board, and the only thing you see right now for recent posts is, 'Who I Appreciate On Here And Why".  I don't really know what to say about that at the moment, other than it is a welcome sight.

I am exhausted right now.  But before I go to bed, I'm going to manufacture a reverse schism for myself by posting these two together...

Eldon: For always making an effort towards encouragement and enthusiasm.  Some may perceive it as 'Hallmark Sentiments', but it should be noted that Hallmark is the number one name that people turn to for such things.

Moffie65:  For being fearless in his convictions.  He is clearly willing to risk unpopularity for saying what he feels needs to be said.

Great idea for a thread, thunter34. On a morning when it's -11°C / 12°F, and I have a therapy appointment to get to, it's nice to find something this heart warming happening here.

What a kind thing to say, Ronnie. I appreciate your friendship too.

Whenever I see your username, I immediately flash in my mind to one of my favourite Jennifer Warnes songs. I will post an excerpt here and I think you might see why.

So many hearts I find, broke like yours and mine
Torn by what we've done and can't undo
I just wanna hold you, come on let me hold you
Like Bernadette would do
We've been around, we fall, we fly
We mostly fall, we mostly run
And every now and then we try
To mend the damage that we've done
Tonight, tonight I just can't rest
I've got this joy here inside my breast
To think that I did not forget, that child
That song of Bernadette

I often think about this place online and truly feel it is special because of the diversity.  I don't respond to every single thread or correspond to everyone via PM's but that does not mean I don't appreciate.  I know it sounds cheesy to be all encompassing but I truly feel this way.  My list of those who stand out in my mind would be a mile long.  I will mention a few of the people who really inspire me to think because that is what I gain most from this place.

Ann - a master of people politics.
Dachshund - a master of American politics.  (and Jack for providing a glimpse of the darkside)
Melia - a master of written word and openness.
Newt - a master of HIV science.
Moff/Joe/Lis - masters of HIV history and survival.

I used to come here out of boredom and for entertainment but as I've become more involved I've found much more.  I am confident this place will continue to live and prosper despite our growing pains.

I appreciate all of you and the consolation you have given me through this difficult time.  Loosing another friend is so hard.  He was more than a casual acquaintence.  We had dated briefly. I included him in everything.
THunter, thank you.

<--- never knew Swede was such a HOTTIE!   Wooooooooooooooo!

I'm with you on that.  Beautiful, beautiful woman.

So as not to hijack this thread (despite one very hot DISH, as noted), I am fond of one Mr. Staley and all the good he has created with AidsMeds.

Thanks to Peter's foresight (I nearly typed foreskin; eep) and vision for AidsMeds; his decades-long commitment to all-things HIV/AIDS; the vast amount of energy and talent he has brought to this site (Andy, Tim, Ann, Grossman (formerly) etc.)); his [obviously] savvy business intellect; compassion and relentless commitment to the 'cause'....and so much more, to Peter, I say "thank you."

AidsMeds is here for all SURVIVORS (no newbies, no dinosaurs, no hideously divisive labels), but ALL survivors of this horrific pandemic when we want and/or need information, friendship, camaraderie, support and more.  "When we want and/or need...."  Imagine that.

Now, just for a moment, imagine no AidsMeds at all.

From where I sit, I can think of few others who have impacted this pozzie, this survivor, so darn...well (here comes the cliche).....positively.

And for that, I say...thank you, Peter.

This is a good thread. Thank you for posting it thunter.

I'd like to thank everyone. Peter for creating this site, and all of the members who post about their lives with hiv.

I felt alone with my hiv, and then I found this site, and I am no longer alone. You are all the wind beneath my wings....corny I know, but it is true.

First off, I definitely thank Peter for this place. I wish I had found it 10 months before I did. I think every testing site/ASO, should hand a newly diagnosed person a business card for AIDSMEDS!

J.R.E, (especially) and ANN (moderator) for holding my hand in the beginning when I thought I might have to start meds.

ELDON-who's helped me learn some things about myself and life in general.

WIN-who's also there to help me learn about myself

ANNIEBC (JAN)-a delilghtful woman who always brings a huge smile to my face.

NEWT-for his HIV intelligence and his mannerisms in speech.

QUEEN/AKinKC-for making me laugh, and AK for making me jealous as all hell!

THUNTER-for unknowingly reminding me what I want for my life, and making me smile , too

JEROMY-for being cute, sexy, sweet, and alot of fun

GSOGYMRAT-for inpiration (dam what a bod!)

I'm sure I could go on and on if I had a list of everyone in front me!

Love,
Paul

EDITED TO ADD ERIC!-how could I forget all that support!?

I love everybody here (see my Christmas card in "Living With" for my extensive list)  :D

I think Jan and I may have been soulmates in a previous life.....

Rocky has become a true and dear friend, as well as Lis, Lisa, Jody and so many more.

I am especially thankful this holiday season for all our 15+ years survivors, who have been living with this all throughout the 90's and 00's....I'm afraid to start listing, for fear I'll leave someone out.....but there's Joe, Tim, Rocky, Lis, Lisa,
Herman, Dan.....oh and ME !  (I knew I shouldn't have started to list them, now my brain has gone dead)

Hugs & love to all,

Alan

Hi Thunter

Mushy or not you started a thread that came straight from the heart.

There are so many here who have touched my heart and in so many diffrent ways, and I don't always get the chance to say thank you...so thank you Thunter for starting this positive and heartfelt post and giving me the chance to do just that...but, there are far too many for me to name..so please let me just say to each and everyone of you thank you for being here for me, for your support, for your love and compassion over the past 3 and a half  years..for you patience and for loving my animals as much as I do.. ;)

To the Tin Man..we have met before, it was on that magical road to OZ..and I think Rocky was there also ( he was one of the Munchkins... :D)

Thanks Thunter for a wonderful post...once again you have made my day.

Hugs
Jan :-*

I could never list all of you that have made a difference in my life over the past 14 months.

There is one person that has become my best friend as well as my older...opps...big brother (sorry about that Rodney) I love you!  :D

I do want to thank Peter for founding this site, I don't know where I would be today without the love and support that I have found here.

I don't think I would have made it the first week of waiting for the results of mine and hubby's test results if it wasn't for Ann, Andy, and Rod in the Am I infected. You guys are truly awesome and do such a wonderful job!

Then when hubby's came back positive and mine negative everyone showed me so much love and support. You all here have literally saved my sanity and I will always love each and every one of you for that.
To Moffie and Rab, who when i needed a bop upside my head, was there to give it to me!
Nadine for your words of encouragement, because you truly know what i have been going thru.
Ray, Eric, Jeff, Alan, Jan, Alex, you have always been there for me and I appreciate all of you so much.

To all the rest of you I appreciate each and every one of you. You have taught me so much about living with HIV, about compassion, understanding, and the courage to go on.

I love you all

Thunter.... Way to go...

I think everyone of us have touched eachother in ways that have allowed us to move and grow.  I get really weird when I just lay dormant and am not moving either forward or back.   The wonderful people who I have met either by reading and responding or just taking in a thread on the sidelines have moved me, rocked me, left lumps in my throat, tears in my eyes as well as jumping for joy....  Getting that kind of support from a written message, boy!   What a time it would be to actually just meet and hug you all...   A place where all our worlds and spirit collide cannot be all that bad.....   I for one, am pretty FUCKING HAPPY THESE DAYS...

Love

Ok, the brain isn't as fuzzy as when I first posted here so there are a few more to add...

Newt, I value the information you provide even though sometimes I still don't understand it. I also like seeing what you are listening to when you posts, even thought I've yet to recognize any of them. :D

RapidRod, I appreciate the information you provide. I also enjoy your wicked sense of humor. You are indeed a blessing to the I just tested poz thread.

Andy, Ann, You guys have the patience of saints. What is your secret? You can tell me...It's weed isn't it? ;) Just kidding...

This is the first time I have checked back in since me and the bf broke up over Thanksgiving.  It's been incredibly hard and good at the same time.  We are still living together and the past few days he has been sweet as hell to me.  We do not really have any kind of official title for our relationship anymore, just seem to be rolling with the flow.  Taking it day by day.  We love each other and maybe it can somehow work out still.

This is a great thread, I thought of not responding because I know I will leave people out.  But off the top of my head......

Moffie:  I can't tell you how much this man has affected my life.  He not only encouraged me almost non-stop at the beginning but his articles always are cutting edge and he has a way of keeping it real for me.

JeffreyJ:  He has an incredible way of sending me a private message of encouragement at just the right time.  I love you buddy.

Teresa:  What a class act she is.  Always making lemonaide out of lemons.

Eldon:  Mr Encouragement to everyone here.  I admire your spirit so much.

MattyThe Damned:  I care about you alot.  You and I have gotten into some good spats on here at times but I've never doubted you cared.  Where you been lately anyway?

There are many others I do not have a deep personal relationship with but would give alot to just sit down over a beer and talk with because I find them awesome people......Eric, AlanBama, Azteca, Hermie, many others.

Thanks to all who care for each other on here.
44 year old gay man .......just broke up with the only man I've ever really loved.

I appreciate everyone that comes to these forums. I've had my share of disagreements with some, but it was unrelated to HIV/AIDS but that is what opinions are for.  We have to be thankful that we can all share, whether we agree or disagree on subject matter. Isn't that life? We have to appreciate everyone here that fights this everyday in hopes to live one day more.

The list is endless and if it weren't for this fucking PML I'd be able to remember everyone by name and why I appreciate them but here are a few that stand out in my mind.

Dan J For being one of the first to send me a PM and to always offer support and to make me laugh as I tried to accept PML and it's consequences.

Ronald1985 This is a no brain-er you gave me hope when there was nothing to hope for!

JordanThe friendship & the music. I do miss that believe it or not.

Nadine I don't know how we connected but we did and I'm so lucky that we did!

PDXRON31For an understanding most here just don't have without knowing PML and for starting the PML Survivors Yahoo group.

POZGUY75 What can I say that obviously everyone knows about you already. I love you Jer. You make me smile - you make me laugh - You make me hard - You remind me of my younger and much wilder days. I think of you when I see VW bugs and when I hear Donna Summers. Typing this now you've even made me cry. OINK OINK OINK

Water Duck For caring enough to share your knowledge and your energy.

These are just a few of many. I could add many others like RapidRod and Eric and Bucko and Coen and Tim H and....but my mind is fried trying to remember everyone.

HUGS to One & All

Everyone.

As far as why, well, sometimes there's no "why" when it comes to emotions. But I do know I learn tons from every person here. Read my new signature (Thanks eirin)

I started to write a few names and then thought why single out certain ones.  Everyone contributes in some form.  Of course I have my favorites and to those I will tell them directly.  But  from what I have seen each person brings a different perspective to the forums and I am so glad to be able to be a part!

Well...first, I sincerely appreciate Thunter...I think I mentioned why above...but here it is again: Thunter you give me that warm tingly feeling in my gut, that feeling when I see a post from you, or get an PM from you, I feel complete and happy. Not sure why...but I am looking forward to finding out why...thank you for being you!

Matty...what can I say...other than, I love you more than my dildos! I think the absolute world of you...with out you in this world, well....it would just be hollow!

Alan...you are one of the first to welcome me hear over a year ago...you certainly have a special place in my heart...because you love with out condition and question...thank you Alan for being here!

Oh golly...they just called my flight, I will update more later...love each of you!

I'm not going to list names but I appreciate everyone who shares on this forum. Hearing everyone's stories reminds me I'm not the only person dealing with HIV. I particularly appreciate the people who have emailed and shared their experience with lipoatrophy and treatments. HIV affects such a variety of people from all walks of life and I have been able to share experiences of people with whom I have little in common and been the better for it.

I would like to say that for me, I appreciate the hell out of some thunter, pozguy75 and booradley... I'm a sort of wry bastard, and they encourage that.  I love sarcasm enabling...

I generally send people PMs to let them know how much I appreciate them, but this thread is a cool idea.

First off, I appreciate everyone here on this forum. I have seen the power of this group when  I  was in emotional turmoil last July and for that I am very thankful for everything for  those that took action on my behalf. You know who you are & eventhough some of you may never forgive me for it I love you anyway (Hal, Matty, Jonathon, John, Trish, TNboi)

Jan- One of the most amazing, talented people I have ever had the privledge of knowing.

Alan- What can I say about this wonderful, loving man? You're an inspiration to me.

cmhjeff- What can I say? Your daily PM's are always a highlight of my day. I hope you start sending me some more very soon.

Jeromy, I LOVE YOU

Moffie- For all your tireless efforts for what you have done for people like us. Tirelessly offering support and sharing the wisdom you have gained while living on this planet.  You have my unconditional love & respect.

Aztecan- Mark is a sweet man & a person EVERYONE should try to meet.

Basquo- My little new wave music fanatic. I love you more than David Bowie. (If you know Anything about me you would know how much I love D.B.)

Lisa- Honey what can I say about someone I love so much. You are special to me, my big sister & someone I always come to when I need to talk. I am here for you anyway I can be.

Jody, One of the sweetest, most humble, loving people I have ever met. Thank you for being who you are.

Juan-  I LOVE YOU

Water Duck- She thinks she is a superbitch. But honey, you don't have me fooled one minute.

I know I am leaving someone out. So I will say this Thanks for all of you for taking part in this forum. We have touched one anothers lives in ways we never thought would happen. I am a memeber of several different forums on the internet, but none of them hold a candle to the community that Peter, Ann, Andy & Tim have created.

IN LOVE & RESPECT TO ALL OF MY BROTHERS & SISTERS,

Dan J.

Last but not least:

My Hermie- I watched you from afar for many many months. When you joined the forum I KNEW from the moment I read your first post that you were going to be a powerful force in my life. Thank you for being who you are & for allowing me to be a part of your life. I LOVE YOU

way too many to mention I wish we didn't have to meet because of HIV but knowing all of you makes living with this disease easier.

In both your posts and our PM conversations, you have revealed a spirit that houses the courageousness & abandon of your youth, and a wisdom and compassion that belies it.

Always a little left of center, yet somehow right on target.       And never, ever out of touch with your 'sexy'.

If I may be serious for a moment, for once in my bloody life.  I would actually like to take out the time to publicly thank thunter, Amosboy, booradley, and eldon.

Really and truly, with all odds stacked against any hope of us getting along.  I am younger than all of you, and we all know about the cardinal sin that is a gay guy in his 20s not crucifying older guys (as well as the sin that is older guys not thinking that I'm a smiley face ovum and nothing more), and also pretty new to the whole HIV thing.  Through all the divisions that we have created for ourselved, the four of you have been nothing but open and have given me that rare gift that offbeat youngish college dropout gay guys never get: meaningful dialogue.

You've shied away from giving me pat, cliche answers, and I appreciate that more than I can say.  Thank you for actually treating me like the human being that I was beginning to forget that I was.

Ok, Queen...you're up!

Sometimes you encounter a person and you instantly feel like you go way back, ya know?   Right off the bat.  You don't feel the need to question it at all.  You just jump right in head first without reservation.  You are one of those for me.  That's all I need to say.

Plus, I'm trying not to exhale...        (Just kidding ya, girl!  Figured you'd get a giggle out of that!)

PS-  I keep getting bumped offline tonight.  I wanted to also say:  You are a buzz in and of yourself.  Whenever I read your words, I get a contact high.

I appreciate so many here, but haven't had much interaction with a lot of them.  I just searched the archived forums for my first post called "Introduction".  It was a hard post to write, and there wasn't much to it.  I got about 25 responses to it, and every one means more to me than I can express.  Instead of listing all the people who offered support, welcomed me, and cheered me up, I'll just link to it [link no longer available].

Of course, the list of who I appreciate doesn't stop there, but that's where the list began.  Jeromy was one of the first to PM me and that's stuck in my memory.  Of course, there's Ernie, who we can't wait to see again!  ;) There are a lot of newer members that bring so much positive energy (Queen, thunter, Longislander to name a few) that I'd say the forums really HAVE changed.  I missed quite a few posts during my hospital stay, and am slowly catching up, but I've never ceased to be amazed at the support and care here.

Some avatars are hot enough to keep me appreciating, too!  It's also amazing what some of us have in common, besides the obvious.  Some members and I know people in common from years back.  At least three (one being my hubby) live in the same town.  I've met a few from NC.  I appreciate all those that attended the AMG; keyboards and screens are one thing, but face to face interaction means a lot to me.  I guess I should state the obvious and say that I appreciate pretty much every member here.

NB. Any advice about HIV is given in addition to your own medical advice and not intended to replace it. You should never make clinical decisions based on what anyone says on the internet but rather check with your ID doctor first. Discussions from the internet are just that - Discussions. They may give you food for thought, but they should not direct you to do anything but fuel discussion.

The people I appreciate most are the people who have shown a genuine heart and I don't mean just towards me, but towards everyone.

Nadine heart of gold and always asks how I'm doing... Love ya girl!  Lisa and Lis the blunt truth of it all is what I can expect from the two of you, your concern has caused a tear to well during our conversations at times..  Love ya!          Paul (Longislander) who seems to have such a gentle soul.  Alex (allopathichostic), I admire his positive attitude and reading his posts make me smile.   Rodney (rapid rod), if I had some sanity this is who I would compare to myself humor wise....  just a cool person, although Rod I heard something about peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and chili (eeewwww)... ;D    The moderators Ann, Andy, and Tim just for who they are.   Peter Staley for founding Aidsmeds.com...

Alan(bama) because he's sweet and reminds me of my cousin Bernie  ;D

Ray (JRE) because he's a class act and has made me LOL on more than one occasion :D :D

Well I can say the first four names of those who either answered my questions or popped emails in my pm box when I was new here. They are;

jjmcm- You were the "first" person to respond to my questions when I began with Fuzeon. If it wasn't for you sharing your experience with this medication, I would have gone haywire during that time. You told me what to expect and it was just like you said it would be. Thank you for the crucial information. I wish you well and I see you continue to share that wisdom with others new to Fuzeon. God bless you for that. :-*

Christine- Thanks for sharing with me those answers about traveling with the Fuzeon traveling kit. I haven't forgotten you for that. :)

Allopathichologist-for always leaving friendly messages and making feel welcome here. You are as sweet as sugar, honey.

Newt-for the straight forward answers about meds and everything else I had in mind. ::)

Time has passed and now I know MANY persons who really cheer me up. I may sell myself as a strong person but many times that I've made someone else happy, I myself might be feeling sad and not mention it at all. Making someone else laugh, or teasing in a friendly way, makes me happy because I enjoy putting people "on the spot" to see how they react and then I burst into laughter. But yes, I do send lots of love to every person who has shared emails with me or responded on the threads to my own posts. I love you all! :-*

Peter, Ann, Andy and Tim Horn:  Obviously, Peter, for founding this site, and also (as Joe has pointed out) for trying to remain forward thinking about these forums...looking ahead to anticipate needs & broaden the scope of the site.  And to the Moderators for their hard work and TLC.  I gotta say a special shout-out to Ann and Andy, though...for their efforts on the "Am I Infected?' forum.  I mean, "the patience of saints" doesn't even begin to do justice to their resolve.  They need a bust or a stamp or something.  Several others already have voiced their appreciation for these folks on here, but I would be remiss if I did not say so specifically.  Your dedication is remarkable.

It just is, ok?

Yeah...I started to lump him in, but I already gave him a post of his own somewhere up above.  Guess he has earned the double mention for that, so:  Rod, if you're reading, more shouts for you for helping the Mod Squad with the WW's!

LOL@Rod..We wouldn't even have to go there because one of my pet peeves is that I don't like to repeat myself. Which is now coming back to bite me in the ass since I have lost some of my hearing. I now have to ask people to repeat themselves...the irony..

Ack !!

Thank you, Rhino!  I can't believe I left out HIVWorker earlier!  My bad, for sure.  I appreciate you for the work you do both on and off this site.  I was reminded of the value of your contributions earlier this very day- when I was rereading some of the long, horrific epics in the "AII" forum.

poet:  Win, this post for you should have already been up here.  I just happened to be scouring back over this thread and noticed that I couldn't find it!  I had connection problems a week or so back, and the post I made for you apparently got lost in cyber-space.  There's a few things I could say, but I'll keep it to its simplest.  Here goes...

I appreciate you for the words that you share.  So provocative, but provocative in the most wonderful way.  You lead us to dive into these wonderful pools of introspection, and help us examin ourselves both as individuals and collectively.  Thank you for that.

Ok...

Jonathan- He's moved on from the forums, but I can't even begin to tell you how much I love him.

Thomas-  My first buddy here on the forums. I love ya bud, you know that...

Rasheen-  Thom is right: Not a mean bone in her body.  She is always nothing but supportive. I'm gonna call her right now.

Basquo-  You are so kind and caring and have always been supportive of me and my adventures.  Be it watching my shows or bringing me movies while my ass is healing to buying me shots of Jaeger in montreal. I love you

Alan- for the birthday list.

Trish-  Even though she doesn't come around anymore, I've learned a lot from her.

John- For making me be sensible sometimes

Zephy- For daily hours long conersations.

Rocky- For being the caring selfless person that he is.

Jan-  Comfort.  That's the only word I can use to describe you.

Jeromy- for always making me smile.

Peter- For posting pretty pictures of himself.  Oh yeah, and I guess starting the site and maintaing it.

Ann-  For tirelessly policing the forums and keeping us safe from attackers and even ourselve

Andy-  For talking to me about Bernadette Peter.

Cliffy- For always being honest with me... Even if it made me angry...

Jenn (Lotus or Swede these days)- For rocking.  You can always make me smile.

I'm sure I've missed some...

On the way home this evening, I decided I would resurrect my little love fest thread here because there's someone I needed to acknowledge.  I was fairly new on here when I started this thread, so I didn't know him very well at the time.

Hal, thank you for brightening so many of my days.  You are truly a gem of a man and I absolutely love you, friend.

Moffie: He always had my utmost respect on here for being able to say things that I could never find the words to express. I will definitely miss his posts, and I hope he comes back.

Thunter: For just being yourself. You always make me smile.

Matty.the.Damned: I love your ability to say something with both sugar and a bit of venom. However, when you speak, I listen - even if your hammer is directed at me.

Otherplaces: Brian, you were one of the firsts that I actually connected with, and I want you to know I deeply appreciate that. You are very special to me.

THE Queen: I know we haven't conversed much, but I do love your spin on things. You always leave me chuckling to myself, and laughter is the greatest gift one can give second to love.

Allopathicholistic: For always being real yet upbeat. You made a huge difference when I first joined this site, and you still do.

Falkore: For being who you are, and a whole list of other reasons.  :-*

Bucko: For your writer's heart. It did not go unnoticed, and it will never go uncherished.

BuckmarkTX: For your heart. Whenever you post, I see bigger glimpses of the gold that beats in your chest.

Moonlight: For showing me that I'm not crazy, and for being so cheerful and sincere.

RapidRod: For standing up to me even if we disagree. I admire that greatly.

Aupointillimite: For your insights and for challenging me intellectually. Even though we differ on a few viewpoints, I always love someone who will challenge me and help me question.

Mouse: For showing me that age is not an indicator of maturity, and for reminding me of innocence (even though you are not as innocent as you seem). :D

Christine: There aren't any words that describe how you've touched me with your heart, but I see it, and thank you.

Before I compose a list to rival the U.S. Census, I'll bring this to a close. There are many, many more that I haven't named, and I apologize. However, I cherish you. I truly do.

OK, "By Your Side" by Sade is playing and I am a mess now after reading this entire thread, thinking about all of the wonderful people I have met and read about.  This month marks 11 years since my husband died from AIDS.  I am absolutely kicking myself for not finding this place sooner....

Molten~  Thank you for the compliment that has brought me to tears in this new place I call "Home." (Keep growing that long hair....  ;)  )

I have been here a little over a month and never thought I would fit in, never thought I would have anything of value to say, and certainly never thought I would be taking friends under MY wing and chatting amongst hot, gay men.  It truly is better to give than receive!   ;D  (Although some of you may beg to differ!   ;)  )

So, without further adieu~~~~~

Queen~ My new sister who I share everything with.  You are very special to me.  What more can I say than "I love you!"

Emeraldize~ For always being here and sharing your humor (and gummy bears), and for PMing me, making me laugh on gray days!

zachysmom~ For the gentle way in which you share your "pain" with me, and making me feel better by letting me know I'm not the only one.

cjc (Cristy)~ For always checking in to see what your sisters and I are doing in our latest tirade.  *Edited to add:  and also for being a cool Metal chick, lol!*

Dragonette~ For your writings to us, your captivating way of sharing personal experiences from across the ocean.  This website knows no boundaries.

Timtation~  For being the first guy to PM me here thinking I was a movie star, for the inspirational "Lyrics" thread as well as this one, for being deep and understanding (now I KNOW someone is gonna take THAT and run with it, lol).  Damn was I pissed when I found out you were gay!

MtD~ For your fire in these forums.  I have always been intrigued by your replies.  You speak what I am thinking at many times.

RapidRod~ For really messing with my mind as I first tried to figure out the face on the dog thing, and for your perfectly timed one-liner responses here.  Even for the third and fourth time, in some cases.

Bucko (Brent)~ For your descriptions of "self" at the end of each post which have always made me smile!

milker~ For your sarcastic wit and great sense of humor.  You keep the threads lively, to say the least.  I remember when I first started posting and saw your pic, and I just laughed and laughed.  "Can I call you sometime?"  LOL

aztecan (Mark)~ For your wealth of knowledge and sharing of personal experiences through the great work that you do.

LTNPs~ Whether on meds or not, I must say I never thought we'd live to see this day, so many years later.  So much strength in our shared personal stories of triumph.  You are all truly inspiring to me and other people new to this site and this virus.

May God bless all of us and keep us safe.

Someone pass me a tissue......   :'(

Lisa, If it was not for meeting her in 2005 at AMG Nashville Gathering I guess we would never have come close like we are today. Also with this Gathering got to meet Alan, Lis, Jody. I really appreciate the whole family here at Aidsmeds if it had not been for this site I would have been lost without all the friends I have meet on here. :-*

I shudder to think whom I'll leave out, but will give it a whirl:

MtD: Whom I love most: My best friend, my confidant, my co-conspirator, my succubus and my incubus. Matty has saved my life twice, at least.

AD: Director of The Spin Cycle Fan Club, cherished friend, fellow traveler along the same damn road.

Jaser: The bravest person I've ever met...ever.

Mellie: How can so much love come from one place? Were I ever to be able, you'd be the woman I'd marry (but the honeymoon would be odd).

Benj: My favorite bright Young Thing and enfant terrible rolled into one; Honors student at Uncle Bucko's School of Advanced Depravity.

JK: The reason I joined AM over two years ago was the chance to meet you. My admiration is boundless, as is my lust.

Jan: Who lured me back out of my shell and got me posting again.

Ann: Without whose support I'd have never published my latest series of articles.

Jeromy: Who still owes me a "date".

Hermie: Whom I have never stopped loving...ever.

Moffie: My leathery daddy Tim whom I support without condition and love without measure.

JoeKillfoile: For inviting me into his home on more than one occasion.

Alanbama: For keeping his soul and heart open for all to muse: the most positive person I've ever met.

Christine: For being the embodiment of grace and resistance.

Mark(Aztecan): For being the kind of friend I'd presumed all died by 1990.

Nadine: Who never forgot me.

Timberly Hunter: Who made my return so effortless.

Moltie: Who reminds me that I am still an object of lust amongst the young.

Rich (Pozattie): Whose faceshot I enjoyed as much as the underwear shot.

Cerrie: Who opened up his "private pix" for me. How i wish I knew German.

Jakie: For whom I always include salacious details of fellatio.

IthicaNights: Who has read everything I've ever written and still wants more.

Philly: Who never played me for a fool, though he's had more than one chance.

Rod: Who inspires patriotism in me when I forget, and whose brevity I can only aspire to.

Cin (Moonlight): Whose charm always comes through.

CarolAnn: For being the fabulously outspoken person you are. Keep me on your good side, sweetheart.

Cammie: Who sends me the most luscious PMs.

Jeffie: Who worships my thighs.

To the three kind souls who responded to my latest emergency with an unexpected generosity, I can only repeat my earlier thanks. Without each of you I'd have been ruined.

To anyone I've left out:
PM me and I'll shower you with private praise.

Brent

I was wondering who brought this thread back to life, glad to see it was the person who posted it. I was wondering what was going on with you, Thunter Bunny. I love my sis, Moonlight but I saw you first... :D If you gonna be giving up some booty, I should be first in line. ;)

I would like to thank those who put me on their list. It amazes me that people actually pays attention to my spin on things. I know most thinks I'm just a hood rat prolly because I talk a lot about smoking weed but I still have some intelligence, I haven't burned all the brain cells yet.. ;) And even if I become a mindless zombie, you still have to worship me...Translation...Make sure Her Majesty has plenty weed, pepsi, and healthy munchies... ;D Oh, yeah and a PS2...

Yes, I try to crack jokes on a regular, you just don't know how laughter has helped me get through many things in my life. I figure if I can make someone forget what they are going through just for a sec with a joke or make them laugh then I have done my job...Now on to my list, not in any particular order and if I forget anybody, I blame it on the weed... ;D

Aunty Doxie-- There are some days when you really have me choking on my smoke with the things you say. If anybody could really feel me on some ghetto type things, it would be you. You are the Aunty, the one who's house you would go over to chill at, like a second home. You are fam.

MattytheDamned-- I can not use just one word to describe you. I know you prolly get that a lot... ;D But I mean it in the best way. Call me sadistic but I love your verbal lashings. I get such a visual when you go into a frenzy. When you display your warped sense of humor, I just melt. And the stories you tell... Oh, I could go on for hours. I love you beyond words....

Moonlight--- Although we have not known each other long, it feels like I have known you a lifetime. I hope one day we meet and have a girl's night out. You have brought out so much in so many in such a short time. Girl, you are an angel. You are officially adopted as my sister....Don't try to run now.... ;D

Philly-- Forgive me for not remember the numbers behind your name.. :D I enjoy your posts for the information and for your sense of humor. You are a fountain of knowledge and information. Anything you post is worth paying attention to!

RapidRod,ACinKC,LWood--- You guys are the most hilarious to me. You bring humor to everything even things political. I haven't seen LWood post in awhile and I really miss his style of humor.I hope all is well with him.

AlanBama,Dan J., Hermie I consider you all to be the heart of this forum. I would like to say more but has never been good with mushy stuff..

Newt,Moffie,Ann-- The things I have learned from you all are invaluable. You have taught me to not just accept what doctors say but to question it as well. Moffie, we may have had our differences but if it wasn't for you, I'd still be in the dark instead of stepping into the light.

Thunter,Amosboy,Pozguy75--- Just because y'all is sexy as hell to me.

Whew, I am spent. Now I must run, I'm late smoking my next doobie.... ;D

Queenie, Queen, Queen...that just might be the nicest compliment I have ever received. In my hood if you ask somebody about their aunty and you aren't sure, the question that always follows is, is that your real aunty or your play aunty? The meaning is clear, related by blood or not you consider that person family. I must say you represent with strength, dignity and reality, served up with a heapin', helpin' of humor. So my little ghetto fabulous, playa partna, keep keepin' us real. The girl is crazy y'all...like a fox. ;D

It could be for any number of reasons.

For the PM dish...

For Oompa Prompa...

For being the one I always get grouped with during troll attacks...or who knows what else?

But if you haven't figured out my affection for you by now...
