Crappy Lab work

Triglycerides are 522 but I take 10mg of Lipitor EVERYDAY.

White blood cells, red blood cells, protein & mucus are in my urine. I have had a recurring urinary infection or bladder infection, enlarged prostate for 2 years. I have been given countless rounds of various antibiotics and nothing works. Been told it's everything from a prostate problem to Strep B infection to possibly TB of the urinary tract.  Lately my testicles hurt a lot & I have had blood in my semen.

I told the nurse at the hiv clinic to make sure she sends everything to my GP so they can have a look at the reports.  Hopefully she will, the old girl isn't known for being relieable about such things though.


I just made an appointment with my urologist on Friday.

It seems like you and I are both getting the "Gee,  we don't know what to do about this" story from the docs lately.

I'll be thinking of you, sweetie. Hang in there and keep us posted on what the docs find out.

Hey Dan,

A word of advise, Get a copy of your labs prior to leaving the clinic and then take them to your other Dr youself, and make sure you keep a copy for yourself as well.

Dan, Have youve checked online your symptoms... and have youve printed all various possibilities to show your doctor to have each one eliminated and rulled out... a good suggestion was to get your lab work(Copy) since the medical staff at the clinic is not reliable... also it is a good Idea you are going to see a urologists... pull up all the info... I've read your symptoms and it could be a variety of things ongoing... Let us know how your doing..

I am going to get a copy of my lap report now. I did check online about my symptoms but the resulst weren't very encouraging.

Looking stuff up is OK, but diagnosing yourself is another story. Let the doc do the diagnosing.

yes dear, you are correct. I see the urologist on Friday AM. I have my lab report to take with me. I am actually more concerned with the triglycerides being so high with my famiies history of heart disease.

Dan, my triglycerides have been high since having HBV and HAV. My doc is never concerned about them. They blame it on the HAART medication for the high levels. I always get the same response. "It's to be expected." Good luck with finding the clause of your symptoms.
