Big mistake can't stop worrying
« on: November 18, 2013, 04:45:37 pm »
Hey guys,

I've made the biggest mistake of my life and can't stop worrying about it.
I'm in a serious relationship with a beautiful woman.
Yesterday I stupidly visited a prostitute.
She gave me oral sex then we had vaginal sex (with a condom)
It lasted for about a minute.
I pulled out when finished and she took the condom off,
It looked in tact but I didn't get to test it etc.
I then had a shower and left.

I instantly regret this stupid act and am so scared of losing my beautiful partner.
I fear if I tell her well be finished and it will kill us both.
I'm worried I can't have sex with her until the 3 month test and god knows how ill hold off that long.
I guess most of my fear is made worse by the guilt of what I've done.

Now I've read that using a condom is protected but am I still any chance??
I wish I could go back in time,

Please help

Getting a blowjob isn't a risk for HIV so there is no need to test for HIV over this specific incident .

Anyone who is sexually active should be having a full sexual health care check-up, including but not limited to hiv testing, at least once a year and more often if unprotected intercourse occurs.

If you aren't already having regular, routine check-ups, now is the time to start. As long as you make sure condoms are being used for intercourse, you can fully expect your routine hiv tests to return with negative results.

Don't forget to always get checked for all the other sexually transmitted infections as well, because they are MUCH easier to transmit than hiv. Some of the other STIs can be present with no obvious symptoms, so the only way to know for sure is to test.

Use condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, correctly and consistently, and you will avoid hiv infection. It really is that simple!

Thanks for the reply,

So the blowjob is ok
The vaginal sex was with a condom
Are they 100%

I mean I read somewhere that there are small holes that the virus can go through?
How do I stop worrying?
Do you guys suggest I keep this from my partner and just use it as a lesson

If the condom did not break you were protected . Condoms are designed in such a way as to leave no doubt , so we can take HIV transmission off the table .

You can ask your doctor or clinic for a full std panel for all other stds . I might add also if you have been having unprotected sex with your girlfriend has been sexually active in the past and she hasn't tested conclusively negative for HIV then you have had a risk and will need to test .

You can do so at 6 weeks past any possible exposure and again at 3 months to confirm the results .

I removed your last post so as to give you one more followup question .

Thanks again!

I'm feeling more at ease here,

My partner and I had a test some time ago and all was clear so I'm happy with her being ok.

So..re this mistake I made I shouldn't worry re hiv?
Should I continue to have sex with my partner or do I wait until 6 weeks?
I just want to be sure I wouldn't pass on hiv if for some reason I did contract,
If you say condom means it's no chance I'll go with that
I'm just worried sick

Thanks again

You are welcome . If this is the only concern you need not worry about HIV , just keep in mind that other sexually transmitted diseases can be present without symptoms for long periods of time and are much easer to contract than HIV and you should consider testing for them for your own health as well as your fiancée .

Im not trying to scare you or make it seem like I am anti-sex , I advise this because sexual healthcare checkups are the responsible thing to do .

That being said , we do HIV risk assessments here and you did NOT have a risk for HIV and can rest easy over that .
