UK Poz Confidentiality (getting meds anonymously)
« on: July 18, 2012, 11:25:09 am »
Hi. Can anyone let me know if there's a way in the UK of getting HIV treatment from a clinic where I can remain anonymous and not tell my GP. I'm worried about people finding out and worried about my job prospects as I need a medical questionnaire from my GP with my medical history when I apply for jobs in my field of work. I'm so scared. I know it's better my GP knowing so I get better treatment but is rather not tell him. Can anyone give me some advice? I'm from the UK.

Any GUM clinic will keep your status confidential from your GP if that's what you want. Haven't you discussed this with your hiv doctor?

HIV is certainly character-building. It's made me see all of the shallow things we cling to, like ego and vanity. Of course, I'd rather have a few more T-cells and a little less character. Randy Shilts

I've been stupid a few times and put myself at risk. Ivecalways been scared of getting a test because of the consequences. I feel fatigued all of the time and had severe flu like symptoms after exposure so I just know I have it. But I'm starting to worry about my health now. If I can keep it private then I'll get a test. Thanks for your reply.

As you have not tested positive, I submit that this thread belongs in AM I INFECTED
