Help with HPV?
« on: August 11, 2008, 07:45:05 am »

I am Brazilian and I have a small doubt. I had unprotected oral sex (mutually) only one time with a woman (fellatio and cunnilingus) a 3 years ago.  I had no symptoms. Is there any risk of contamination by HIV?

I read on the Internet some doctors who believe it's a risk and others who believe it is not. I am very afraid.

I am married to 2 years and i have unprotected sex with my wife. She did the anti-HIV test and the result is negative.

I can be contaminated?

Sorry for the bad English!
Regards.
Carlos

Carlos,

Performing fellatio on a woman will not place you at risk for HIV infection. There is no danger that you have infected your wife, that is why she has tested negative on the HIV antibody test.

Please take the time to read our Welcome Thread and follow the links to our Lessons to learn more about how HIV is and is not transmitted.

Carlos,

Getting a blowjob is not a risk for hiv infection. Going down on a woman is also not a risk for hiv infection.

If you have ever had unprotected intercourse with anyone other than your wife (who is hiv negative) then you should test. Otherwise, you don't need to.

Carlos,

Nothing you have done is a risk for hiv infection and if you persist in posting about it, you'll  be given a time out.

If you don't know what I'm talking about, read the Welcome Thread.

Thank you very much

Carlos, you don't seem to be really reading what has been said to you. You've already been told several times that you were not at risk and that no testing is necessary. How much clearer can the responses be than that?

Also, stop using the word contaminated. It's offensive to those living with the virus. Someone is either HIV negative or positive. It has nothnig to do with contamination or being clean.

Take a breath or two, let go of your unwarranted fears and get on with your life.

Sorry for my words. I do not speak or write in English very well. I do not have a rich vocabulary. So sorry for offenses.

I want to say thank you to everyone for the help. I am very bad and sad to 3 months thinking about it. I just wanted to make sure that I was not infected. Andy, what are your opinion? You agree with everything that was said here?

May God enlighten all of you. Congratulations on the excellent work done.
Thanks.

Carlos, I've just told you that you weren't at risk.

NO RISK! How much clearer can I be!!!!!

If you can't let go of this unwarranted fear then I suggest you see a counselor or other professional to get some help.

Coming back here again and again with the same question is going to get you a time out from the site.

You have no basis in HIV science to be concerned. Get on with your life.

I forgot to mention that the woman had an orgasm and after that I did oral sex in it again by +- 5 minutes. This changes into something what you told me?

Thanks.

the woman had an orgasm

Carlos,

How nice for her. It makes absolutely NO difference to what we've told you. You did NOT have a risk! NO RISK!

Keep posting about this NO RISK situation and you'll be given a time out. If you're read the Welcome Thread like you're supposed to, you will have read the following posting guideline:

Quote
Anyone who continues to post excessively, questioning a conclusive negative result or no-risk situation, will be subject to a four week Time Out (a temporary ban from the Forums). If you continue to post excessively after one Time Out, you may be given a second Time Out which will last eight weeks. There is no third Time Out - it is a permanent ban. The purpose of a Time Out is to encourage you to seek the face-to-face help we cannot provide on this forum.

Please consider yourself warned.

Help with HPV?
« Reply #20 on: November 23, 2009, 02:12:22 pm »

Hello,

I know that this forum talks about HIV, but does anyone can help me with this question about HPV?

01) Is there a possibility of contracting genital warts (or manifestation of genital HPV) performing oral sexon on a man? If not, how could I have acquired the disease without having any penetration?

Sorry for the bad english, i'm from Brazil.

Thanks.

Human papillomavirus (HPV) can happen with any kind of sexual, genital contact with someone who has HPV. It can be passed without having intercourse.

Many people who have HPV don't even know it since often there are no signs or symptoms. That's why HPV transmission can happen without either partner knowing it. In the U.S. there are about 6 million new cases of genital HPV each year. The vast majority of cases occur in 15- to 24-year-olds.

Discuss it with your doctor if you think you may have been exposed.

First, thank you for your reply.

Andy, i understand.

In your opinion, can not be with genital HPV practicing only oral sex as I said earlier. Is it?

Yes, I think it can be passed in that manner, but you really should be discussing this with your doctor.

As you have yourself noted, our focus here is on HIV.

Carlos,

I've merged your new thread into your original thread - where you should post all your additional thoughts or questions. It helps us to help you when you keep all your additional thoughts or questions in one thread. It doesn't matter how long it's been since you last posted.

If you need help finding your thread when you come here, click on the "Show own posts" link under your name in the left-hand column of any forum page.

Please also read through the Welcome Thread so you can familiarize yourself with our Forum Posting Guidelines. Thank you for your cooperation.

There is such a thing as oral HPV and you can become infected orally by giving a blowjob to someone with penile HPV. You can also become infected with penile HPV by getting blown by someone with oral HPV. HPV is MUCH easier to transmit than hiv.

If you have further questions about HPV, see your doctor.
