Need Atripla FAST Just moved to LA
« on: August 03, 2016, 05:34:08 am »
I just moved to LA for a new job and I am running out of Atripla (about 8 days left) My Health Insurance for my new employer hasn't kicked in just yet, but I want to set up an appointment with a doc fast and get a new prescription. I should have coverage by the time I actually go to the doctor. Can a general doctor write me a new script for Atripla or do I need to see a HIV specialist (Who are NOTORIOUS for having 3-4 week waiting periods for appointments.) I just need one supply to get me through the next 30 days.

If you take in your current bottle of Atripla, it would seem a primary care doc would write you a prescription if you explain you are waiting to see an ID doc and need just enough to get you through.  I don't live there so I can't say for sure, but it doesn't seem like an unreasonable request.
