MSM Unprotected receptive oral sex with HIV+ male
« on: November 07, 2013, 10:06:28 am »
I ha deceptive oral sex with another male on October 1 and October 16. There was a little bit of precum but he never fully ejaculated in my mouth. I may have brushed my teeth 15 minutes before or after the oral sex and sometimes I have a little bit of bleeding gums. I tested negative on the oral swab antibody test on October 19 and 31. I tested negative on the Insti 60 second fingerprick test on November 6th. Should I be worried? I feel like I have been having diarrhea since the day he told me he tested positive for HIV.

Oral sex is not a risk for HIV infection, as HIV is a very fragile virus and saliva contains numerous proteins and enzymes that render HIV unable to infect.

The risk factors for HIV are ...

Sharing IV drug needles immediately after use.
Unprotected anal and vaginal sex.
Mother to child during or shortly after birth
Very specific healthcare situations.

Use condoms for vaginal and anal sex consistently and correctly and you will avoid HIV infection, it is that simple.

If you are concerned about any symptoms, you should consult with your doctor as it has nothing to do with HIV.

Thank you for the reassurance. I decided to do a full blood test so that way I don't have to wait the 90 days for test results. I know a lot of online resources say there have been cases so it's just scary I guess. I want to stay in my relationship with my HIV+ partner but just want to make sure I am not infected. Due to this incident I am determined to volunteer my time and energy to doing things like you do at my local aids foundation.

There is a guy saying that he just tested positive from oral sex in the I tested poz forum. Could that be true?

There are many reasons why some people claim to be infected from one transmission route to the other but we stand behind our assessments and the science we base them on .

So I mutually masturbated with my HIV positive partner. When he ejaculated he spread it on my face. I have razor bumps that usually bleed when I shave.  Think I shaved about an hour before I got any cum on me but should I be concerned since he is HIV positive?

You have been told already not to post outside of this one thread already . You can go to your profile and select show own post and it will take you here .

You did not have a risk for HIV , Joe already gave you the transmission routes for HIV .  Use condoms for vaginal and anal sex consistently and correctly and you will avoid HIV infection, it is that simple.
