Wow, $1100 per pill.

So, what kind of help is there for Hep patients?  None?

The article said insurance companies and Medicaid weren't covering their former drug, Solvaldi, except for the very ill.  That seems silly to force patients to wait until they are ill and likely with liver disease, before covering the drug.  And, wouldn't curing Hep C make the person unable to transmit the virus?  Hep C now causes more deaths, than HIV/AIDS.  Hep C infections are increasing here (probabiy most places), due to the huge increase in heroin.  It does make me appreciate all the benefits for HIV.

One would think insurance companies and Medicaid not covering the drug, except for the most serious patients, would be a bargaining chip.  One would think Gilead would have negotiated better, to get more on it.  But, it seems that didn't happen.
