Fresh Precum landing on fresh scratch!
« on: June 05, 2012, 10:13:38 pm »
LONG STORY SHORT: Fresh precum from head directly onto fresh scratch between my anus and testicles. risk?

the Whole story:

I recently got some fresh precum of my partner on the area between my testicles and my anus, and there was a scratch that occurred on that exact spot only a few minutes before the precum came into contact. his penis head touched directly on the scratch, and i could feel the cold temperature and wetness of the precum against my skin. i couldnt feel a burn from the precum, but afterwards when i took a shower, the water and also the soap caused a burning sensation. when the precum touched the cut, there was blood plasma (clear fluid) coming from my cut.

just really really nervous. I asked him if he was negative before we hooked up, he said yes... and when i was scared after, i asked again, and he seemed a little annoyed, and then especially annoyed and a little cryptic when i asked when he was tested last. people just sketch me out sometimes! never doing the random hook up thing again. :-\

THANKS!

You were advise how HIV is transmitted.

HIV is transmitted by;
Unprotected penetrative anal and/or vaginal sex
Sharing works with other IV drug abusers
Mother to child

Now move along.

how could it be that simple, sites all over the web say scratchs and cuts and abrasions (broken skin) is a path way. does Ann and others agree with this too?

Thanks

HIV is unable to reproduce outside its living host (unlike many bacteria or fungi, which may do so under suitable conditions), except under laboratory conditions; therefore, it does not spread or maintain infectiousness outside its host.

come on man, those answers obviously arent helping because you offer no explanation, i am blatantly anxious still. how does flowing blood plasma mixing with possible infectious fluids = no risk? The precum came directly from the urethra of the penis onto my scratch, within 3 seconds of touching air. everywhere I have read says it takes a few minutes for the virus to become harmless and weakened. I left the other forum because I wanted to hear from another forum expert, can I please just get a confirmation from ann or others that this is indeed nothing to worry about?

Maybe this one will.

If you continue to post excessively after one Time Out, you may be given a second Time Out which will last eight weeks. There is no third Time Out - it is a permanent ban. I am sorry you have encountered misinformation (also disinformation) elsewhere on the internet. This site uses the most up to date peer-reviewed science to make assessments.

HIV is very fragile and difficult to get. Abrasions, scrapes, scabs are NOT conduits for the virus. Too many barriers to get through, too much time outside the body.

HIV is transmitted INSIDE the body through unprotected vaginal and anal sex, sharing IV drug needles, and sometimes from mother to child in the womb and during birth/shortly thereafter.

It's really that simple.

"Many people, especially in the gay community, turn to oral sex as a safer alternative in the age of AIDS. And with HIV rates rising, people need to remember that oral sex is safer sex. It's a reasonable alternative."

And yes, it is THAT simple. You were never at risk as JK has carefully explained to you.

Get on with your life and just make sure you are always using condoms for anal (or vaginal) intercourse. Those are the only confirmed risks for HIV transmission sexually.

Thanks guys! sorry I was being weird about it last night, it is just nice to hear from multiple voices rather than just one kind of grumpy sounding one ;-). either way, I appreciate each and every one of you for all of the things you do.

Please believe me, we are all dedicated to the science here. If anyone approved to make risk assessments misspeaks (mistypes) s/he will be corrected fairly quickly. And, of course, if someone not approved to make risk assessment does so, then s/he will quickly be reported.

We really try to stay on the same page here, and almost always succeed.

Thanks everyone, I have been dealing with my anxiety over this, and I know you guys are right, I just cant get my entire mind wrapped around the fact.  anyways, my partner refuses to tell me when the last time he was tested so it has made me more scared. I dont know why i am so scared. It might be because of the guilt? because I hooked up with a stranger and should have been more weary of scratches and stuff. it is just a bad situation, but i am glad you guys are around to help.

Are there any articles I can read that would make me feel a little better? also, I have read Ann say sometimes that the cells located in small scratches are not the cells that are used for infection. are those certain cells located at the site of the big cuts that need stitches that everyone talks about in terms of hiv to open wound transmission?

sorry for continuously posting, its just that I have a fever now, with no other symptoms, some kid trying to convince me that this situation was high risk, and nobody to hug.

You don't need to read anything more. In fact you need to stay off of the web instead of just feeding your worst fears to no good purpose.

You did not have a risk for HIV. And now I am going to warn you that you if you continue to come back here about your non-risk incident you are going to find yourself getting a Time Out from this site. HIV is not your problem.

Consider yourself warned!
