Title: Looking for courage
Post by: northerngrl on July 18, 2007, 06:11:16 am
...to test.  I know I'm probably in the wrong forum but I'm just looking for courage from other women.  I've been living in fear for five years.  What made you test? What gave you the strength?  Did you go alone or have someone with you?Is it better to know or just wait til you get sick?  One unprotected encounter...had the acute viral symptoms shortly after.  I haven't been with anyone for five years for fear of infecting them.  This is no way to live.  You may chase me out if I'm not in the right place.  Thank you for your time.

Hello, i think you should be posting in the "Am I Infected " portion of the forums. That aside, By all means, get to the health Department and get tested . Being celibate and in fear for 5 years is a long time. Quit putting it off, it's better to know. C

My goodness go get tested!  There are so many opportunities for people with the virus today, unlike in the 80s and even early 90s.  Remember, if you do test positive you have CHOICES and this is a chronic disease!  I can't tell you enough, don't sit idle, get tested, and if you're negative, continue to get tested if you feel (even in the slightest) that you should!

We are all here for you!  Let us know the outcome............  :)
