ADDERALL?
« on: April 24, 2014, 07:37:57 pm »
Anyone take Adderall by chance?  My doctor prescribed it for me to help out with my energy and it has done that, I no longer almost fall asleep at work and can focus more on my job, plus I have the energy and focus at the gym.

The only problem is getting an erection is almost impossible when i'm on it, I take a small amount 10mg to 15mg, but damn i'm not used to this.  I did read on other forums that this seems to happen to guy because it takes the blood from extremities. Some guys say they use Cialis or Viagra when needing to do the deed.

Mikey,

I take Methylphenidate (Ridlin) that works like Adderall (I think), but does not come with any performance side-effects.  I take antidepressants as well, and even with the Ridlin, I have no performance issues at all.

I take Dexmethylphenidate - "focalin"

I have it in 3 dosages and usually take the smaller one daily.  Occasionally the middle one, once daily.  And rarely the higher one.  The highest dosage gives me hives.

I don't take antidepressants but when I did I had some boner problems but it was intermittent.

I dont notice any effect of the focalin on wood when I want sex.  On the other hand, it does seem to make more serious morning wood...  But I don't sleep as well as I did before I started focalin and my experience is that fatigue actually makes me a bit hornier...

I used to use cialis and it was great - weekend of wood whenever I felt horny.  Viagra I like less.
Oddly enough, cialis has no effect on me now, and this occurred after I started isentress.  And no doctor has heard of a counter indication.  So I will occasionally use viagra now but its expensive, not covered by insurance, and makes me hiccup.

Try to score some free cialis and see if its the miracle it can be... woweee

Take my advice if you notice trouble falling asleep, be SURE to take your "energy pills" in the morning.  My shrink says after 12 noon, it will effect the ability to sleep in the evening.

I was watching a William Burroughs documentary the other day and you know what he would say, brass tacks, this stuff is "junk" - lets not kid ourselves its speed.  But therapeutic, agreed!

I would not assume it's in your head.  I had to keep switching antidepressants until I found the ones that didn't kill everything.  The Ridlin provides mental clarity and a little boost, but not in a speedy way.  Maybe it would serve the same purpose for you, without the nasty side effect.  Check out different drugs to find one that works, it does not have to be an either or issue.

I am envious off your abilities to get any anti fatigue drugs out off your Doctors. I have any amount off Fentalyn Patches, Hydromorhine tabs, Valium but anything to stay awake the big no-no.

As to sex disfunction and drugs, I gave up speed in my early 20,s due to the fact that my ranging horniness was met by a Penis that thought it was minus 50 . Frustration never since matched. Now after two intensive bouts off Chemo and other bits and pieces it seems like a lottery. Fun when I win though ,hey ho when I don,t.

Theyer:   Prescribed by a psychiatrist and not my generalist nor my ID doc. I do talk therapy with the psychiatrist in addition. The psychiatrist has prescribed all sorts of drugs over the years, I guess its part of her way of practicing.

I haven't stayed on any of the drugs permanently -- they are used to facilitate, shift, change, imo.  I wonder how long I will take the so called ADD drug.  i wonder if it will be difficult to stop.  So far it hasn't been especially traumatic to stop any other of the drugs.  In my 50 years the hardest drug to stop by far is tobacco. And that is revolting but only for a few weeks. But i did stop and start tobacco a few times because the rewards are very compelling.

I guess there is no reason I would have to stop.  But my experience with drugs used in mental health therapy is my own and not the usual one, I think.  Drugs have an amazing effect and do their work and then after awhile there is a combination of I don't really notice their effects as much, and/or I have changed and don't need the effect they gave, or whatever, but my mind and body loses interest it seems.

Im jealous of people who get testosterone scripts. I went shopping for that a few times and all doctors say no. no no no no no.  I took it for two months when a friend gave me the gel and in my opinion, it is also a mental health drug, but hey, I'm not a doctor. Mostly I follow doctors orders cause its their job to know, not mine.

I admittedly didn't give it enough time to sort out but when my docs gave me one or the other ADD drugs I didn't last a week on them . They were prescribed for fatigue and just a quarter of a weak dose made me really edgy and I could not sleep at night even taking in the morning . I wonder now if the CNS side effects of the Atripla I was dealing with back then had more to do with it than the ADD drug itself and it was a combination of the two .

yeah if only. And now they say K also can help certain conditions.  I wouldn't mind some LSD trips this summer.

The only authorised studies doing therapy with fun drugs, are LSD for terminal illness and MDMA for PTSD.  Of which I have neither.  Though there is talk anyone who went through AIDS hell in the 80's 90s may very well have PTSD.  I think the most stressful event in my life was the very nasty collapse of my long-term relationship.

Or did you mean its easy to buy LSD here?  I dunno.. Its easy enough to get x but the x sucks, mostly.  And I am not a big fan of X.  I know my way around méthod champenoise wines and through extensive research  ;D find that its a therapeutic drug with a lot of pleasant effects on the brain and body.
